I guess we all better stick together if we want to look for the cave. Who knows how powerful the witches are and for all we know they could be there.

Here's what confuses me. If you need to be alive for them to steal your powers, why did they want you dead? Were they hoping that one of them would end up getting your powers if you died?

Even though the legend states that you are supposed to be born with powers, who's to say that its true? The legend also says that you don't start showing powers until you are older. Who's to say the powers don't just pass down to whoever is next in line to get them, regardless of how old they are? Maybe these witches feel that one of them was meant to be the next in line to get the powers, but you happened to be in the right place at the right time and it bypassed them and went to you

I guess they think one of them would get my power if I die. But you brought up a good point. For all we know, the part of the legend that I'm born with my powers isn't true, just as long as I have those powers. And suppose the witches feel like my power belongs to them, it could be that none of them are suitable of this kind of power. I mean the roach monster told me my power wold be too great and perhaps they wouldn't be able to handle it if they had it. Of course, they'd think my powers rightfully belong to them and thus they want to steal it and, for good masure, kill me.

The whole power passing on thing is probably something we will never understand completely. I didn't show any signs of being anything until the scientists tried to turn me into a werewolf. Who knows. I could have been born with powers and they just were dormant, or it just so happens that the second they were trying to turn me into a werewolf that the last demon passed on its powers.

Seems strange that there hasn't been any sighting for years though. Either the powers wait until the right person comes along or bat demons live for a really really long time and the last one was just good at hiding. Then again, its hard to kill something that can regenerate instantly when in its in a physical, flesh and blood form, and nearly impossible when it has a form that is the physical embodiment of darkness with literally no internal body structures. And I say physical loosely in the sense that a mass of dark matter has materialized in a three dimensional shape.

Makes one wonder if the time where we received our powers, or even the fact that we have them, was just a coincidence or if there's more behind all this. And there's still the possibility that we were actually born with our powers - I'm starting to wear that word out - and they didn't show until the time was right.

And as for the bat demon sightings, perhaps there is a hidden settlement somewhere n this world for bat demons and only they know how to get there.
