Right, so now that side argument is said and done... What now?
What now is that I'm going to try to break the barrier between Team Steve and Team Matt. This isn't something I'd normally do, but I wanna apologize to @Censored and the rest if things I said came across as offensive to them. And Censored is also getting a follow because as much as I'd like to strangle him sometimes, his posts keep this place interesting.

So there's that.

Yes, but- now what? Really... We have nothing else to do but wait for anything else or play the blaming game again...

Well its all about timing. I honestly believe that for the Muppets to move forward they HAVE to prefom very well at the Hollywood bowl. From what I understand tickets are still available, which means its not a sold out show. I just hope that dose not affect sells of merch and other things as well. I just hope that fireing Steve dose not hinder what could be a do or die situation for the Muppets.

Another way to illustrate this...Jim's Kermit got angry and freaked out. A lot. Like total meltdowns. The Muppet Show. Sesame Street. He'd even brood...The Muppet Movie, Muppets Take Manhatten (The frog is stayin!).

The difference? His meltdowns were funny. Hilarious even, because the man had a gift for comedic line readings. No offense to the guy, but Steve doesn't share that same gift.
the few times Whitmire's Kermit did get angry I thought he did angry Kermit good but he hardly did it. that could have been the Writers though?

Rizzo is Steve's original character. It's going to take a lot of time before he is recast. Me personally I don't think he should be recast unless Steve OK's it. Which I'm almost sure he won't.
Does Steve own the Rizzo character?

Of course not. If Disney wants to recast Rizzo, then they have every right to do so...It's just likely that he'll never get the same personality back, which is a froggin' shame.

When that day comes, it won't be easy for the guy who created his whole persona...probably had a whole backstory for him and the whole shebang.

Yeah to me Rizzo was a part of Steve, and it would hurt me even more seeing him getting recast.

I agree, after all Tresasure Island was based on the book, so maybe the real Captain Smollett was temperamental (I never read the book in its entirety so I wouldn't know.) and in VMX Kermit was mainly doing Jimmy Stewart/George Bailey in terms of temper tantrums, so yeah, Steve's Kermit really never had a meltdown when he was fully in character the way Jim's did, so that is one difference between the two. But again, you're right that it probably was the writers. Kermit did have a huge amount of pressure on him when he hosted TMS, but he did seem more laid back in later years. So it seems like its only coincidental that his personality changed at the time his performer changed. We'll have to see what the future holds on that for Matt's Kermit

That's what I thought. So, why would they need to ask Steve's permission?
