So? That doesn't mean anything. It just means that the tone changed.
Well my opinion was the first one was more serious than the second one......................But to each their own.

But I liked the music for the movies, especially Ya Kid K and his group High Tek 3. Spin That Wheel is uber awesome!

And yet, I feel personally that both of the first two films had the same feel as the cartoon![/quote]That didn't have the same feel to me but I liked it anyway.

I did too. They may have been braindead bafoons, but they were funny!
I liked them. but they became wimps after a while, lol!

Speaking of Archie comics, there was a Saturday cartoon in the 80s, wasn't there? I have a few comics that says to look for it - I'm not sure I ever watched it, though.
I loved the cartoon and used to watch every Saturday. Also loved the original one as well!

Funny thing about the Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show... Ol' Sparky was reluctant to give them a Saturday morning cartoon series for the longest time. It wasn't until the early 80's when he finally broke down. And since they were based mostly from the comics, you know they were good.

Of course, the idea to keep making TV specials posthumously following the same guide lines gave us enjoyable, but ultimately forgettable, results. Especially since "I want a Puppy for Christmas, Charlie Brown" features a sequence that was also used in the CB+SS episode "Spike." Of course, "Spike" got its point accross in less than 5 minutes.

Anyway, the bigger success was the Garfield and Friends series. This is probably the first variety comic strip show featuring 2 comics, both by the same creator... Other "variety" comic shows featured different strips by different creators... Fabulous Funnies, for example, featured stuff like Alley Opp, Katzenjammer Kids, and Broomhilda. Heathcliff had 3 different cartoon shows, but he shared it with 2 non-comic strip entries (Dingbat and under DIC productions, the Catillac cats) and one from the comics (Marmaduke). I have only seen Dic's version.

Good point. Sometimes, sacrifices must be made in order to get one's idea across.

And a brand new Garfield series is supposed to air in 2009 as well. So that's probably something to look forward to.

One can only hope.
I heard that Frank Welker is supposed to voice Garfield, Wally Wingert will be voicing John and Gregg Berger will be voicing Odie just like in the Garfield Gets Real DVD.

And just like the old Garfield and Friends, I hear the new Garfield series is supposed to have celebrity guest voices as well. And one of them is going to be veteran voiceman Stan Freberg.

I wonder if any of the other characters--like the farm animals & the clown, Binky--would appear?
