And just like the old Garfield and Friends, I hear the new Garfield series is supposed to have celebrity guest voices as well. And one of them is going to be veteran voiceman Stan Freberg.
Wow... it seems to be a CGI version of the old series.. we got the same writers and a commitment to guest stars... there were a lot of Guests on Garfield... from James Earl Jones, to George Foreman, to Don Messick, and even Paul Winchell appeared twice. One of which, he performed the voice of a race of alien "Dummies" that used their forms to try to take over the world. Not only did they get guest voices, but they also used them in very clever ways.

Though i wonder what has become of Thom Huge... the original voice of Jon...

He is probably in the "Where are they now?" list of voice talent.

I liked I Want A Dog For Christmas Charlie Brown because it was based on a series of conics from the strip.

I hope the new Garfield series is good!

Everyone is always looking down at poor little Rerun..I always thought it was a shame he was not in more cartoons...He was born in the 70's after all..I know he was thought of as a mistake, but I liked him..not as much as his brother though of course

Well, one of the strips in the special is from a Christmas pageant one from 19666, and it originally had Linus in it but they replaced him with Rerun. He was very muhc the opposite of his brother as he did not take as much of Lucy's bullying.

Yeah, if memory serves Lucy is much more gentle with him. But it's been awhile, so I could be wrong.

Rerun isn't so bad. I don't like him too much, but he's not bad.

Rerun's adorable, honestly. He may be drawn like a mini-Linus, but he's his own person, as well.
