I liked the films too. They were corny, but less campy than the cartoon.
The first one and the fourth (the recent CGI one) were great. The second and third one not so much. The second one suffered from trying to be like the cartoon without being the cartoon (and the budgetary problems of not being able to do the true origin) and the hideous rap stylintgs of Vanilla Ice performing his second and only other hit.

The third had a good plot, but suffered cheap anamatornics. They couldn't afford Henson this time out... and Splinter especially looked like crap.

For the second film, I ignored Vanilla Ice and the bugetary problems, liking it for what it was. The third film? Not so much....

I don't know it it is quite that bad, but it's the worst one over all to me.

I mean...what purpose did going to Japan serve? It was nothing like the comics or the cartoon in that regard.
