Speaking of scripts, Im feverishly working on that 'edgy/hip' Muppet film script treatment...luckily over the last few years coincidentally a few things Ive 'wished' for openly have come true(ie: Kermit on the treet segment on Kimmel) so who knows. Its something else to be able to in my own mind actually see clips from this film, but not be able to show people.

What I am hoping is that JHC doesnt throw my letter away, and uses some of the ideas...I wish I could mention what it is, but from the opening scene to the tail 95 minutes later, its what I would consider pure Muppet magic for the modern times.

Remember the opening of Muppets From Space? Like the first 25 min, you wer elike 'this is genuis!'...and then you were soon crushed? Imagine if it was one giant crescendo like the first or third Muppet films. I wish I had some kind of clout, or JHC was running a script contest, as Id love to see this made some day.

I wouldnt mind so much...its just this means all their performers will be spent focused on this and not much else...and then this is what they will be promoting on the eve of the FIFTYETH Annv Year? No no no...between this news and the closing of the NY HQ I fell sad. This better be one darn edgy reenvisioning of that story I tell yeah...real edgy.
2005 is the fiftieth of Sam and Friends, the year that we'll most likely have a new television show by. Isn't that the year the 30th Anniversary special was for, or did they celebrate that by the first television appearance? According to the Muppet Central Timeline, The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years was taped in 1985. I would assume it aired either then, or the following year.

I'm sure if they count 2004 as th Anniversary year, there will be plenty of other plans come into play. The Hensons have to be aware of it.

If memory serves correctly, Muppets Celebrate 30 Years aired in January 1986.

Yeah, only problem is that without an agent the JHC won't touch it with a barge pole.

Well, actually, in The Muppets Go to the Movies, the Scarecrow was played by Scooter, so who knows if Kermit'll even be in it.

That's what I thought. But I just posted when it was filmed.

So, although the 50th may be next year, it won't be celebrated for another two. lol

The Muppets turn 50 in 2005...this is a massive milestone that I hope JHC pulls out all the stops for.

In my honest opinion, the Muppets have done more for the good of the world, peoples imagination, laughter, and a sense of wonder than Disney, Looney tunes, or any other Americana iconic characters could do...they are truly special, and its so gut wrenching to see this financial thing continuing to plague JHC. Its why the Oz thing, if its their only project in 2004 is kind of sobering, as its a bad sign things could be headed in reverse...as not that long ago we were talking about an edgy prime time Fox show helmed by Team Todd...*pouts*
