why not a Muppet's 'Alice in Wonderland'?
Piggy would make a great Queen of hearts!
they could make up an excellent soundtrack, it would be so much fun!!

Because they already did it on The Muppet Show with Brooke Shields as Alice.

What a fantastical, feathery feeling!
I'm falling!
Slowly revolving and spinning and reeling!
I'm falling!
Curious creatures with curious features appear and fade!
.......... There's a jar of Orange Marmaladfe!

Hi there! hehehehehehe! We're having a jam session. Wanna sit in?

Hey there, Miss Alice, if you're near the palace,
Just drop in.

If you're really racing that rabbit you're chasing
Get hoppin'!

I don't think a person can hop and drop at the same time. (I hate smart Alices)

Talking flamingoes, that cool cheshire cat.
Yeah!
Up where you fell from, there's nothing like that!
Get set for adventure as soon as you've finished
Your falling!

There's a footman with a face like a fish's
And a duchess with a cook who keeps breaking the dishes!

Catterpillar on a mushroom who's smoking a hookah!
Hookah!
Hookah!
Look at the hookah!

That's very bad for your health, you know.

There's a tea pot that has a mouse in it.
Things get madder and madder by the minute!

Curiouser and curiouser is the expression, I believe.

Wait till the scene when the crazy old Queen
wants your head off!

Why worry about her? With luck, I won't survive the fall.

Seems like your bound to a merry-go-round
You can't get off!

Don't be surprised if you meet Captain Hook.
Cuz our version won't always follow the book!
Get set for adventure as soon as you've finished
Your falling!

Seeing as how this is gonna be on ABC, that also means it will most likely be on The Wonderful World of Disney (a Saturday) the same as The Muppets at Walt Disney World. In which case, do you think the Muppets will film a special introduction with Michael Eisner for before it, the same as they did with M@WDW? I noticed they still do those introductions occasionally, in particular when they did Phenomenon 2 with John Travolta and Michael Eisner doing the intro.
Did you watch "Phenomenon II?" I wanted to but ended up being gone that night. How was it?

I love Muppets Christmas Carol.

I can't see the Wizard of Oz idea, it might be a misstep for them. WOZ is, like Gone With the Wind and Casablanca, one of those films that should always stand on its own and not be remade by anyone.
I love the Muppet Christmas Carol too. It's probably my favorite version of it. I think you may be right about remaking Wizard of Oz, it just seems like one of those movies that should be left alone...

but a full-length movie would still be fun.
I couldn't agree with you more. I would love to see a Muppet Alice in Wonderland.

I'm not a big fan of the story re-telling things, people have seen the Muppets so little over these years that I prefer them playing themselves but yeah, I can see Alice or WOZ working and being popular more because of amazing visuals and effects than anything to do with the Muppet writing. As long as they have the right people onboard and a healthy budget obviously. I certainly agree with all that a beautiful, magical, enchanting kids film shouldn't have people like Hulk Hogan popping up half way through. If they are gonna do cameos lets hope they are appropriate ones this time.

Oh yeah and way earlier in this thread it was pointed out that Henson was talking to other networks for the TV movies besides NBC - and oh lookie lookie - they signed with ABC. I guess it's amazing what you can hear working in a mailroom ! :stick_out_tongue:

I thought it looked kinda corny. I loved the original, but made-for-TV sequels tend to disappoint... Was John Travolta even in it, or did he just introduce it? Of course, I wouldn't think he *should* be in it, unless they made it a prequel. BTW, love your signature - that's a GREAT movie!

Thanks!

John Travolta wasn't in the movie just the intro.
