Has anyone read the original script for Punch And Judy (the 1800's english puppet team) its violent! he kills his baby by beating it, kills his wife by beating her (then goes and gets a new girl) kills his neighbor, and well, it keep on going, its terrible!

I would LOVE to have the original script for the PUNCH and JUDY show.

Violent as it may be, still it's a part of our history as puppeteers.

That and midget clowns and marionnettes.

I have two marionettes, and would like to try building a wooden one someday. That'd be fun.

I'd like to see Punch and Judy, just to know what it's like. That'd e neat.

Hey, isn't the Punch character based on Commedia del arte? In Particular the Pulcinella character. A lot of Commedia is about sex, violence and starving. A lot of commedy comes from pain ya know. At least that's what I'm told.

So people throughout history laugh at violence. Nothing much has changed, Just look at some of those real bloody internet cartoons where cute little fuzzy critters get killed. I think it's called "Happy Tree Friends" or something like that, that'll give you nightmares.
