Oh yeah, sorry for the double post, but here's the pics I posted over at MR for an idea on how to get the right look for Gonzo's nose:

It's outdoor foam like I said in an earlier post, and it's non-deteriorating. Hopefully Amy will be able to show these pics to Travis or someone else in the know, or maybe they'll see them here.

Where did you find that stuff? I'd like to look into it for puppet building. Is it available online?

Kermiebaby....I agree with you, hope that they use this stuff as well. You found something really great. Now if you only could be heard, that would be even better! :concern:

Oh yeah, Kermiebaby...where you there when Amy said that Travis is a good friend of hers last tuesday? Try emailing her and telling her what you found. So she can relay the message.

Didnt Travis say a while ago that all he could do was leave a note of what the fans want and that time was running out for change
Yes he did.Here it is
The first factory samplefor the nose was the wire armature, covered with a kind of non-porous foam, and then covered with a porous material to replicate the foamy-ness. Is this the way that I would have done it..? No. Does it look bad? No, in fact, it's better than I would have guessed. But I have passed along the message regarding "what the fans want." The problem is, I don't know if it's too late to impact it. Resin tough, is certainly not an option. Too costly, and too heavy.
I don't know when he posted this, but this isn't the way the factory sample they had at Comic-Con looked. As we've all seen in the pictures, his nose was covered in some kind of mesh netting that everyone was calling "pantyhose". If it had a "foamy-ness" look to it, that would still be much better than the "pantyhose" look.

I still think the stuff Anthony found, though, is an even better solution.

Considering they still haven't even put Gonzo up for pre-order, I'm not sure it is too late to still make changes on him.

Even though awhile back Amy said that the pre-order for Gonzo is on the 19th of this month. We will have to wait and see if they did anything to improve his nose. I really hope they took consideration that we all would love to have Gonzo....just not with that nose. He is close, but not right on it.

Travis quoted this in post #204, back in June.

That foam looks great! It looks just like Scott Foam. I REALLY HOPE MR LOOKS INTO THAT OUTDOOR FOAM FOR GONZO.

UPDATE:

Terry just emailed me and this is what he said.

I sent the information along to Travis and it's up to him if he uses it or not. from looking at these pictures it seems to me that it could very well be scott foam I have heard scott foam referred to not only reticulated but Polyurethane. Now I could be wrong and probably I am wrong.

Good job Kermiebaby!
