Any news? It seems such a long wait between hearing news.

It has been a while, but it's to be expected what with Gonzo's nose. Hopefully no news is good news, and Travis & Co. are still hard at work at finding a suitable material.

I was at a Joann's craft store a couple weeks ago, and they had an outdoors foam that I thought might work. I don't have the pictures to link to, they're still on my phone, but I'll get them posted pretty soon. It was almost like a vinyl, & it had open cells just like regular Scott Foam, but they were water resistant & non-deteriorating. All in all: perfect foam for the look of Gonzo's nose!

Also, I was talking to my brothers and nephew about it, and my nephew said, "what about a wire mesh?". I thought that was a pretty good idea, though they'd have to coat it with something softer so it wouldn't be prickly, but IMO the look would be a lot closer. Hmm...

When we have Q&A's and Trivia on Fridays, I ask Amy if there is any news on Gonzo and the Muppets and she tells me that there is nothing new as of yet, but when she hears something, she will let me know. It isn't just the Muppets that there is nothing new to hear, actually there is nothing new going on at Master Replicas. Even the other stuff I have on order or waiting for them to put on pre-order.....nothing new as far aas she knows. So we are all just going to have to wait. If I hear anything, I will let you guys know first. I am hoping that it will be coming out sometime soon myself. It has been a really long wait.

Update from Amy on trivia night. Animal is on the water and won't be shipping out till mid October, or at the end of October....He is on his way!~

I hate how everyone there always gives you a hard time when you ask 1 question about Muppets. It's not "Star Wars Master Replicas", it's "Master Replicas", and they've got loads of licenses. Do they really get that bent out of shape when you ask a single question about Muppets?

If MR would only listen to there fans would be a good start. I missed it when we had the chance to talk to Travis on here. Now, we are lucky we can even talk about the Muppets on Q&A nights or Trivia nights. I wish you luck my friend. Maybe a ear will open you way.

I wished there was a way you could let them know about it. This is so frustationing. That would be great for his nose!


I don't know if this will work, but KermieBaby. I emailed Terry and asked him if possible that he can get into contact with Travis and let him know about this stuff. He is our only hope and just maybe it will get to Travis through Terry. We will have to see how it goes. I will let you know when I receive an email from Terry. I told him that you found this awesome stuff and it just might work.

Yes he did.Here it is
The first factory samplefor the nose was the wire armature, covered with a kind of non-porous foam, and then covered with a porous material to replicate the foamy-ness. Is this the way that I would have done it..? No. Does it look bad? No, in fact, it's better than I would have guessed. But I have passed along the message regarding "what the fans want." The problem is, I don't know if it's too late to impact it. Resin tough, is certainly not an option. Too costly, and too heavy.
