Well, I just PM'ed Amy over at MR and she sent me a PM back. I told her how really concerned we are about Gonzo's nose and she told me that this is why we have not heard any updates due to Travis is trying to correct the nose before it ever goes for pre-order. I really think they know our concerns and I do have Faith in Travis himself. After all, he said this is his baby and I know he will do the best he can. Maybe time is what we REALLY need on our Gonzo. And we will all be happy in the long run.

Here was the PM Amy sent me at MR:

We are still working on the nose that is why there hasn't been an update. Once we get the nose corrected Travis will be posting to let everyone know.

Thanks!

Amy

I take that back... I can speak to other versions. Look at that avatar directly above my previous post. As tiny as that picture is, you can see black between the whites of Animal's eyes. So, there's another example.

:stick_out_tongue:
I still disagree. There might be a small gap, but the gap I see in the replica is much wider.

I think it'd be in MR's best interest to put Gonzo on hold and have Fozzie step up to the plate. Gonzo has a such a big fan base and it'd be sad to see him not lookin so hot.

I just had a flashback when Kermit was anounced. It was just like this before anyone got him. Kermit had a happy ending. I sure hope that Animal and Gonzo will also. Sometimes pictures just don't do justice. Only time will tell, and I am willing to wait.

Okay, this is the last post I'm going to do on Animal's eyes. Please take a look at this picture I took from Comic-Con:

MR Animal

I want you to look at it very carefully. Notice how the eyebrow fur is covering part of his left eye? If you fix that and reveal more of the white part of his eye, it will look like they are closer together (which they are) and be proportioned properly.

Once again, as with Kermit, it's all in the posing.

I agree with you WOE. It was like this when Kermit was anounced. No one was sure that he looked right. I believe you since you where there and actually got to handle Animal himself. Posing and pictures just don't do good when you don't actually have him there in front of you. :halo:

I am also convinced that it will all be in the posing. If you look at the original Kermit replica pictures and how he looked when you first took him out of the box! lol. Once you squash him and bend him a little he gets more and more "real". Animal will be exactly the same and I pretty sure Gonzo will be once he is coloured correctly. I think the main problem with Gonzo's nose in the photos was the stark blue colour without that "various colour faded effect" he has in real life. His nose has never been simply light blue.

I have been taking particular note of the Animal puppet as he appears in The Muppet Show Season Two. :halo:

Sure, the Master Replica poser will need to be broken-in a little bit, but as he is, it appears that there aren't many issues I have with it. Everyone remembers each puppet a different way and at a specific place in the character's evolution. Also, a static poser shot is always going to look different than a filmed moving puppet.

That being said, the nose might be a tad on the small side. Not sure about that. Also, since when have Animal's teeth been so sparkling white? I looked back in other photos and apparently he must have had them whitened a while back. Don't know exactly when, but the poser is not the first to have such a fresh set of chompers.

I am hoping that September we will be hearing something about Gonzo. Nothing has been brought up or updated in a while. I hope something good will come out of this delay on him. Cause we all would love to see Gonzo come out if he looks better than the last time we saw him at Con. He is one of my favorite characters in the Muppet Show. :concern:

Also, Gonzo's nose is his main feature. Get that wrong and you can potentially ruin him.
