I just saw the post that said she didn't make it. I'm so sorry to hear that, but glad to hear that your friend is doing as well as can be expected. I'll continue praying for him and hope that he'll be able to get on with his life and live out some of his dreams.

Just wanted to say Vic, I've been continuing to think of you and your friend and praying too. (Last time was on the way home today from work at a long red light. Was a good time to send up some prayers.)

Sorry to hear this. There was nothing your friend could have done to stop this happening.

Hi everyone; I just wanted to give you an update here, but first a quick recap for you who aren't aware of what this thread is about:
My best friend was driving home from work in the early morning when a girl on a bike rode into the wrong traffic lane where my friend was driving and due to sun glare, by friend was unable to stop in time and struck the woman on her bike. Sadly she passed away soon after, but my friend was found innocent of any charges because he had obeyed all traffic laws and his car was current on all inspections.
So cut to the present and after many trials being rescheduled, my bud is going to court tomorrow to hopefully finalize everything. Now the woman's family has opted to sue my friend (or rather his insurance company as he has nohing), so he's understandably upset on several different levels and I'd just ask you to continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Oh gosh, Vic...and right at the holiday season, too. *sigh* I just read all the posts here, and I am so sad for Tim right now...I'll be keepin' him in my thoughts and prayers.

I think it's utterly ridiculous for the family to sue your friend, seein' as HE was in the right of the law. He did NOTHING wrong (I work in the news, and it burns me up to see innocent people sued and gone after---especially when they're suffering). I do understand they're devastated and feel the need to blame someone, but it's wrong to blame him for obeying the law.

I wish all pedestrians, bikers, skateboarders, and the like would be very careful so as to avoid things like this...(((hugs for Tim)))

Thanks so much you guys. I know it sounds harsh; but it is true; Tim did do everything he was supposed to, and it's not like anyone thinks this poor girl got her come upens, Tim's really distraught; but let's face facts here, if she stayed on her side of the road, she'd still be alive! Like I said, I know that it seems harsh, but this was totally avoidable on her part, but I do appreciate all the hugs... and Tim does too.
