I remember reading an interview with Jim where he said "If you want to make a sketch funnier, just add penguins". Or words to that effect.

How can you argue with the master himself. Penguins all the way!!

The penguins always appeared as a group, but I liked the fact that the rats - especially in Muppets take Manhatten- were each given there own personalities and character...

Me too The Problem would be that the Penguins always look the same
