Secret Squirrel does (or at least, says he/she does) work for the Jim Henson Company. We just don't know who he/she is.

Can't be Karen Prell, Noel MacNeal or Steve Whitmire... they're all on under different usernames (though rarely on here... Steve's only ever come on here once).

I like Pepe for the Toto role - I think he'll make the other Muppets seem more believable as the Oz characters in comparison.

I looking forward to this production, but I would like to see another original Muppet series on TV, too. I'll take all the Muppets I can get! :excited:

My vital question is this : will they make special edition Muppets ruby slipers in my size?

"There are more of us than you know."

Don't make a big deal out of it, though. He most certainly didn't. Remember, if we wig out (WigGy) we could scare 'em off... so, shhhhh! we're hunting wabbits!

Pepe As Todo...
That's funny too - Toto in Spanish could be Todo. Todo, as in all or everything, right? That would be Pepe - he's got it All going on. Todo-ally.

Yeah, for once I agree with Luke: This is DESPERATE

And why retire Rowlf? UNRETIRE HIM!!!!

I can do a good Rowlf voice myself! What is the problem? The Henson kids are insane, and the company hasn't emailed me back about my idea for a video of the NYC building.

But I CAN understand Pepe as Toto. Rowlf is too much of a big guy and an easy manner to play a small yapping dog. Pepe is good. So...I can at least agree with that.

But still, it is too little a thing to agree with. I like "Great Muppet Caper," which is a good story using the Muppets. The last movie was bad, and the Christmas TV special was pretty good, but COME ON it was REALLY just a "Wonderful Life."

What a bunch of rip-off artists the Henson family are. Wizard of Oz is already very special, and it can NEVER be topped, and CERTAINLY NO WAY with a cheapie TV special.

I can't even believe they are making this pile of stupid garbage. I would rather watch a Twiddle Bug adventure.

They are going totally mental :stick_out_tongue:

I think if they do a whole new take on Oz and not re-do the '39 musical it could be interesting; I just get tired of them doing parodies. I like movies like TMM, MFS or VMX where the characters are being themselves. GMC and TMTM where the characters play themselves playing someone else were great films, too; but, MCC and MTI--good though they were--just makes me want to holler because I want to see MUPPETS, not Kermit as the Scarecrow.

What I WOULD have liked to see is JHC Creature Shop take the original book and create a whole new film based directly on the book! That's always been my hopes.

Yes, it would be fun, but it would take years of work and many millions, all to top a movie that can't be topped.

Better to have Jackie Chan and Gonzo do an action adventure cop movie and play it straight.

Oh well, forget that...back to kiddie video all the time
