Hey, I just finally got around to reading this story, and it is strange indeed! I love it though! I've never even heard of the game this story is based on, so I'm enjoying learning about that too.

I'd really like to read more, but no pressure. I know a bit about rough days, and weeks, and months myself. Hope things go better for you!

Ha, Ed! I just saw your new signature, and that song just played on MCR! Don't know if you're listening too, so I thought I'd mention it. If I may though, the line isn't quite correct. It goes "hairy but not scary monsters". Then again, don't know if you did that on purpose.

Hee... Thanks Kate, yes, I was listening earlier. Wasn't an intentional mistake, twas what I thought I heard. Might change it to something else from the upcoming Seuss movie.

Oh hi Claudia. Care for one of Tony's muffins? Trade you for an update.

Embarking On A Weird Wonderland Journey!

{Look ma, no hands!}

The Fortress of Doors holds such secrets.
But it will take more than just a wish to get inside.

The skeletal creature looked bewildered for the first time.
Holding an unusually serious face, he looked to her contemplatively.
“Doors have locks; locks need keys, which you don’t have.” He finally said.

She was afraid that he’d speak another one of his silly riddles.
It turned out he was being oddly clear—a strange thing to witness in a mad.

The girl decided to lend him an ear.
Cheshire reminded her to remain alert, having noticed she was blatant to the potential danger lurking nearby. “Let’s hope the doors are open.” He said.

She displayed a coy smile, “And if not, there’s more than one way to skin a cat, if you’ll pardon the expression.” She said.

He cringed. “Nice metaphor.” He said, feeling his skin crawl—if he had any left.

She gasped. “Watch out!”

He blinked. “For what?”

In a matter of seconds, she pierced the card in half.
The card’s entrails hung loosely as it hit the ground.
A pool of blood seeped through…making the poor girl tremble.

“How pretty you look in red!” The grinning cat cried.

She rubbed her elbow, feeling dreadful.

“Aw, don’t pity yourself for too long! We still have a long way to go! Besides, I really did mean it.” He said, speeding off.

Her fear increased as she observed her wrong deed.
It wasn’t wrong, but it was no picnic to take a life so promptly

Why do you pursue me to this deserted place?

She jumped in fear from the gentle voice. “Are you the elder?”

Yes, the old man said.

“I’ve come to you to benefit from your wisdom.”

“Even blurred vision is valued by the blind. If I were clever, would I cower in this trash heap? I’m not wise, girl…I’ve just…grown old.”

“I’m sorry to hear that, sir…but I wish to become this small. Do you know how I might do that?”

“Only that? Oh yes, I could manage that…for a price.”

“I have nothing of value.”

“You have nerve and your health. Mine are nearly gone. I’ve seen too much suffering…and I smoke too much you see.”

“I see…what must I do?”

In the Card Gaurds’ compound a particularly rough diamond holds the key.
Retrieve it, and I will…repay the favor.

Nora and her cunning ally progressed through the eerie village, and into what appeared to be a mine wagon. The two decided to hop on, not caring what would lurk in the darkness. The wagon went upwards like an elevator, and then turned to the right. The sight was horrid. Throbbing organs clung to the walls—terrible taste in decoration.

To their horror, the tracks had been severed by something; it led to a pool of green acid.
Childish laughter filled the air—it was her mind playing tricks on her again.

“We have to hop off.” She ordered.

“Aw, I wanted to see us suffer the agony of death!” He said.

“Very well said.” She said jokingly.

“Off we go.” He gestured her to follow.

Their feet touched the ground.
They looked around for some sign that they were close.

*Applauds. Dunno what the more graphic bits were, but I loved it all. Hee, guess Nora's the answer to what's black and blue and now red all over. That childish laugh... *Cringes knowing who it might belong to and his role in all of this. Please... Squeex... Post more!

Claudia, that was a great chapter!
I'm sorry to hear about all you're going through, and I hope that at the very least you can get some good sleep soon!
