homerthegreat, please do not take this in a negative manner, but if you could please get off your high horse. Immediately judging Bear, his ideas and intentions, and putting them down do not help anyone, especially Bear. He has an idea, and I think it's only fair that he attempts to run with it. Anyone is allowed to try, and they have to start somewhere.
Freewebs is just fine for a small site. First off it's free, you can upload html pages, use ssi, has a good amount of space, etc. It has everything that Bear needs as a beginner with website building, html, etc. and it is just fine for him. I doubt he plans to buy any webspace or a domain name anytime soon, as it's going to be a personal site for him. So, using something like freewebs should suit him just fine. And also, yeah some people may judge and say, "Wow, you have a freewebs site, what's wrong with you, can't you build anything decently?" But those people should get off of their high horses too. Everyone has to start somewhere, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with starting where he is, since he is a BEGINNER. You said using freewebs will make him seem like an amateur. Well, he IS. Noone will be looking at his site professionally, and judging it, so I don't believe that you should judge it either before it even exists.

That being said, I'm sure he appreciates that you are trying to help, but I don't think that's the kind of help he needs. He first needs to be able to learn about html and website building, and the only real way he can do that, is just that - to actually do it.

Yeah, I wish people would stop judging my site like that as well; but hey, it's met my expectations, and then some!

Thanks, Mrs. P. I appreciate that very much.

Hello, to everyone who has supported me here! I have just started to attempt my new website and so far it is pretty bare, but I am excited about doing it. D'Snowth and Mrs. Pepper have especially been helpful in this. I would even like to talk to you about possibly assisting me further in it.

D'Snowth, I have started reserving space for your reviews. I already have a title for that section but maybe you can help me with your own fun ideas.

If you want, and the site runs well enough, I will let you do an Elmo feature, considering you are probably the biggest Elmo fan I have ever known.
You think I'm the biggest Elmo fan?????!!!???? No, no, no, no. I am not even close.

Bear, you're welcome on both counts, and I would love to assist you with anything you need. Right now my email is crazy, so that's out, but feel free to PM me at any time.

geocities

Freewebs

BAD
proboards
I never had GeoCities, but FreeWebs is excellent. I agreen that proboards is bad, but Sudden Launch is even worse, and it's a simplisitic version of pb, but then again, where else can you can find a free forum?

geocities is much easier than free webs,if you use page builder.

Yes, but geocities has alot less space. And pagebuilder doesn't give quite the same kind of look that the freewebs templates do. But I've used geocities before, and I like it alot. But I'm experimenting with freewebs right now. It's amazing what you can do with the geocities pagebuilder, though: http://www.geocities.com/dabdibbun/ is an amazing example.

No Offense, and I severly apologize if this offends...

Again, I apologize for coming across as a fadge, but it's the truth. If some of the kids at my school saw this, they would be in tears.
Did anyone actually read my post? I never meant to look like a dick or humiliate anyone. I gave you tips. Sorry...
