No Offense, and I severly apologize if this offends, but this thread is literally making me laugh. BEAR, you say you want to have a Seasame Street website similar to Muppet Central, but you're planning on using FREEWEBS?! Any good website builder knows the good from the bad...

The Bad
http://freewebs.com
http://geocities.com
http://freeservers.com

The Good
http://6te.net
http://t35.com
http://freewebsitehost.net

Plus, you're planning on making a site, comparing it to MC, and you don't know the difference between "template" and "HTML"? Please, for our sake, do not take a step further. First, search up lessons on HTML on Google, or take a class where they'll teach you it. Then you can somewhat build a website. But first, LEARN HTML or PHP.

Freewebs is GREAT, there's nothing easier than freewebs, plus their free!
There's also nothing worse than presenting your site to somewhat with a Freewebs URL. It make you seem so amateur. If you're going to use FreeWebs (Which I highly discourage) then please buy a domain, or get a domain from 6te, or FreeSERVERS.

Again, I apologize for coming across as a fadge, but it's the truth. If some of the kids at my school saw this, they would be in tears.

Wow! You certainly are a smarty pants! :smirk: I have not done a website to this extent before. I don't expect it to be as well polished as MC in any way. I would just like to start. We all have to start somewhere. Forgive me if I am not as experienced in the area. The reason I set up this thread was to present my ideas and ask for helpful feedback and advise. MC didn't always start off the way it does now. From what I am told it was done on a similar site to those that you have just bashed. There is no reason for me to be considered a good web builder or a bad one considering I have not even started yet. I really wish you would have kept your comments to yourself or presented them in a more constructive and kind manner. That would have been a much smarter idea than to humiliate me on this public forum. Thanks for your advice and making me feel like a fool.

So that's what you have against FreeWebs is because the URL's have to have a freewebs in it? Huh, I don't see why that would make it look amateur, besides SOME people do not trust buying anything over the internet. But we're entitled to our own opinion.

Heh, crazy Chester. Aceboard, Invision, ProBoards, and Freewebs are not web hosts. They are pre-programmed forum software.

And did you actually read what I wrote? I said I didn't want to offend you, and I didn't mean it in that way.

To get a real idea, try posting a link to this thread on someplace like http://maggied.com or http://nohomers.net/index.php? and see what their response will be. They can actually make great web pages, and they would treat you worse than I did...

I know a little HTML. Not a lot though. I could not code a layout or anything, but I could change colors, insert pics, just enough to get by

My friend was building a site and she said tripod was good. You might wanna try that if nuthing goes well. That's just what she said. I never actually went there.

I hate geo cities. It's easy, yet it uses your email address. My email address is super long.... 22 letters. So, the site url was soooooo long. Unbealiveable.

Im sure it will be a good site! I thought about building an elmo/SS site but I figured no one would go to it.

If you want, and the site runs well enough, I will let you do an Elmo feature, considering you are probably the biggest Elmo fan I have ever known.
