the people who worked on the matrix, and even the movie studio, warner brothers, were thinking that the matrix reloaded would get to 300 million easily. they were also hoping to beat out the record spiderman had from last year within a few weeks after the movie opened. now the matrix is having a tough time as it is and maybe doubtful that it makes 300 million. although it's good that it has made over 230 million, however, the directors and the producers of the matrix reloaded movie aren't to happy and see it has more of a financial bomb than a sucess. hollywood now a days base their movies on how much money it can make and how many records it can break at the box office. if i were them, i'd be happy the movie made 230 million so far. the movie is still playing and there is another matrix movie that comes out later in the fall. so they shouldn't be down. but what do i care, it's not my job that's on the line! hehe....

I tell ya', they should be happy for that! No way I could make a movie that'd make that much! Though, I could try...

The Matrix isn't considered a bomb by any standards. However, the studio is disappointed with the results. If they wanted the film to break records, they should have made a better movie. It was good, but not great. You know, a little bit of tighter editing could have dramatically helped the film. It was just too fat and had little plot substance. I find it funny that they felt the Animatrix shorts (interesting as they are) were needed to catch up moviegoers. One could skip Reloaded entirely and go straight to Revolution without skipping a beat.

Don't get me wrong. I wanted Matrix to do well. I wanted it to be an A+ picture, but my butt fell asleep thirty minutes in. When considering fight scenes, less is more. After two minutes of constant bombardment (especially in the same location), it becomes tedious. Just my thoughts. I feel this film had too much of an ego and couldn't live up to the hype. Nemo, on the other hand, creates no expectations other than being another beautiful film from Pixar.

perhaps bomb was overstating the point, but the fact remains that the sudio heads are mad that the matrix reloaded won't be ably to make 300 million like they hoped for.....i never saw this movie and i won't. i won't even rent it when it comes out on dvd because i never got into the first matrix movie.....to bad for them...

perhaps i might go see finding nemo in a few weeks and let all the crowd die down....

Oh, I'm up for seeing -almost- any movie. Reloaded is definitely worth seeing. It's just not the spectacular film it was supposed to be.

I just got back from Nemo. It's my favorite Pixar film so far. I'd probably give it an A-. It could use some original songs, but aside from that it's a breath taking film. The humor worked on both the kid and adult level. It's a film that has something for everyone. A great adventure. I just wanted more! I'll probably see it again.   :flirt:

Yup. There was another cool thing in the credits too. Don't want to give that away.

I especially liked that the classic Knick Knack short played before the film. It just shows how much they've grown since the late 80s. You know, that's the first computer animated project that I thought had something special. The characters were expressive and the short had a cool kind of energy not seen before in other CG projects. Hope it makes the DVD!

I know what's in the credits I think. We don't have out cuts this time right?

I found this if anyone is interested:

Star-struck Indy

Monday, June 02, 2003

With the not so insignificant Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises behind him – not to mention ‘Bladerunner‘ or ‘Apocalypse Now‘ – you would have thought Harrison Ford was a shoe–in for the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But only this weekend was the 60–year–old actor welcomed to the list of the great and good in front of the Kodak Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.

Also in attendance to see the star‘s name etched into the Hollywood street was Steven Spielberg who excited the crowd by announcing, "We‘re about to launch production next year on ‘Indiana Jones 4.‘ Ford was a little more circumspect. "I don‘t know anything about it except that Steven‘s very enthusiastic," he said. "He‘s got a period of time to work on the script before I see it, so I should see it in a couple of weeks." So it‘s definitely fedora and whip time again for Ford? "I can‘t say that until I read it," Ford said. "But it feels like a go to me."

he he! Kermit got his star before Harrison Ford!

Harrison Ford has actually stated that (I suppose this depends on whether or not he does the film) that he will not be doing any more movies until they start work on Indy 4. He needs a break, he said.

I posted a bit of information on the next Indiana Jones flick HERE if anyone's interested...

Anyway, Finding Nemo sounds like it'll be pretty good then. I can't wait to see it. I certainly hope it lives up to my expectations, though, with what Jamie said, I'm sure it will exceed them.

I was just looking over your list of "hopeful movies" for 2005, Beauregard. Is "The Star of Bethlehem" supposed to be another movie about Jesus Christ or something?
