And I saw "Flightplan" now and glad I did. Thought it was a good movie (I'd probably give it 3 out of 4 stars). Jodie Foster was excellent, as expected. Good supporting characters too. Really keeps your interest throughout. Its conclusion was okay but I did have at least a couple of unresolved questions, one of which might be answered upon getting to see a certain scene in the movie over again. So I recommend it unless you think nearly the entire movie taking place on a plane is too limited. It was a gargantuan plane, though. Also, if you're looking for a laugh this isn't the one to see. It's totally serious the whole time. I don't think there was even one line of humor or comic relief. But I like movies like that sometimes.
I simply adore movies that are all set in one enclosed location, "Phone Booth," "Panic Room." How does it compare? Have you seen those?

Me too. There's something really appealing about a limited setting for a movie. I have not scene "Panic Room" but now have an interest in renting it some time, esp. since Foster is also in it. I did see "Phone Booth" back in the theaters when it came out a few years ago. Really loved it! Keeps your interest the entire time. I think "Phone Booth" beats "Flightplan". They are about even the first hour. But then in the final 30 minutes Flightplan is somewhat of a letdown whereas Phone Booth remained great, in my opinion. Another one I want to rent some time is That Announcer's favorite movie: "The Terminal", since that got good reviews and also takes place entirely in an airport terminal.
And for comedies, how about "The Breakfast Club"? Took place almost entirely in a library of a school used for detention purposes on Saturdays. And that was one funny and entertaining movie. Good observation, Beau. There's something about limited location that can really make a movie work!

I saw Flight Plan and thought it was pretty good. My dad, who also saw the movie with me, kept on wondering after the movie finished on how big that plane was. If you've seen the movie, you'll notice the plane was super huge. I also liked that the movie was pretty much in one set, or just a couple of sets. It shows the movie was more interested in the characters of the film. Television shows that only use a few sets and rely more on acting than special effects are termed "bottled shows." This movie flet like one of those.

2 1/2 our of four.

Next up, "A History Of Violence." I saw this movie a couple of weeks ago and the movie sytars Viggo Mortensen who played Aragon in the Lord of the Ring films. The movie also stars Maria Bello. Ed Harri,s, and William Hurt. The movie was pretty bad. My dad wanted to see the movie and I said "okay" and went to the movie with him. Both he and I after the movie shook our heads, A lot of people in the theater didn't like the film and were saying it was horrible. the movie is about Viggo's character Tom Stall who seems like your average Amercian living in a small town and suddenly, when he kills two evil men, starts getting people from his past showing up, like Ed Harris.

Viggo's family including his wife, played by Maria Bello, doesn't know anything about his past but soon realise after he kills several, Ed Harris and some of Ed's goons, more people out of self defense that Tom isn't the man his family thought he was. The ending was just horrible and I'm still not convinced that Viggo Mortensen is a good actor. He gives a wooden performance in his films, with the exception of the Lord of the Ring movies. The movie itself, does have some graphic killing in it. So it's not good for the little kids or even those early teens.

1 out of 4 stars for A History Of Violence

Corpse Bride is now up. Now this movie, was pretty good, but it was nowhere as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas. There were a few characters that were developed like Victor and the Corpse Bride, but there wasn't a strong story, cast, or music. I guess when I was going into this movie I was thinking it's going to be as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas.

2 1/2 out of 4.

Last is "Serenity." Now, I never saw the sow "Firefly" and I came into the movie not knowing who these characters were or what was going on. But I payed attention the story and quickly learned of the characters. Serenity wasn't that bad. it reminded me of Star Wars in a way. The movie is about the crew of the serenity taking on two passengers, a young doctor and his kid sister who had experiements done on her. The young woman also has a secret that the crew try to discover and find out what's going on and why the Alliance, the people who think they're the good guys and are what's best for the human civilization, is after the young woman. The movie had some good one liners/humor by the crew that could be resembled to what Harrison Ford might have said as Han Solo or as Indiana Jones.

Batman begins has to be a prequal because the Bat signal was used in the other movies and it was introduced here. And if it was the rebirth of the character after years of hiding the Joker is already dead He can not come back unless you have to consider these to different franchises using the same character.

Batman Begins is not a prequel to the past 4 Batman films. Batman Begins is what Warner Bros. callas a "restart" of the franchise meaning Batman Begins is completely different than the other movies that had the Joker, or Vickie Valle, or the Riddler, etc.

So basically consider Batman Begins seperate from the other movies, and also, consider the sequel to Batman Begins that will be made in the next few years seperate from the other four movies too.

So it goes like this:
Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin (are linked together)

Batman Begins, Batman Begins sequel (linked together)

I heard the Sentinals are going to be the villian. Makes sense. also Jean Grey becomes Phoneix, which we knew it would happen. However, one of the X-men is supposed to die. That's what I heard.

I want to see Sinister sometime. he was a really good villian. I can see James woods being a good Sinister, with makeup and all.

Anybody heard about the villians in Spiderman 3? It's going to be Venom and Sandman.

Personally, they need to finish the Harry Osborn thing and let Spiderman kill him when Harry becomes the Green Goblin or either the Hob Goblin. Also the side story in Spiderman 3 can be that Peter Parker gets a new photgrapher, Eddie Brock, fired, and then at the end of the film a mysterious substance comes and bonds with Brock, and he then becomes Venom threatening to get Peter Parker. That would happen in the end of the third movie.
