A review of "The Fog"

The Fog came out today and stars that guy from the WB show Smallvlle, Tom Welling. Now this movie did not get screened in time for critics so there wasn't an offical review, and that typically means a bad sign. And the no review of the movie was right. The movieis about Tom Willings character, Nick Castle, and his girlfriend, Elizabeth, played by Maggie Grace. Bascially a fog brews in a small town in Oregon but the problem is, what does the fog want? Turns out what's in the fog is ghosts, ghosts that died long ago and they have to get in the small town where Nick and Elizabeth live and get something.

The movie was okay but there were several people in the theater that I went to that kept on talking and burping and making noises, which distracted me.

1 1/2 out of 4 stars.

From the looks of the trailer, the extra gore wasn't necessary for The Fog remake. In the original, the 'fog' was gratuitously killing people, not 'in-your-face' like this remake and so many other horror flicks of today &/or remakes do.I enjoyed the original, because your imagination made the 'fog' more than it was.I'll always take gratuitous violence over gore.:smirk:

Here's another article about the upcoming "Rocky 6". Looks like it's 60 yr old Stallone in the ring again, and back in Philly yet again too!

Welp, it looks like another horrible weekend at the box office. The Fog only made 12 million.

I'm still going to try and see Elizabeth Town. It looks promosing.

Actually, Stallone wanted Rocky to die in the 5th one, but eventually he changed his mind. I'd definitely be up for Rocky VI, though, especially if it's really classy (which it could be).

One upcoming movie that has my attention is this Friday's release of "Elizabethtown". I like fun adventure comedies. Plus, Kirsten Dunst stars in it and I am becoming a real fan of hers. But I now have a second job (part time for now; in addition to my full time job. Eventually should lead into a full time job and then I can leave the old one. But for the near future will be pretty busy so may wait for this one on dvd). Happy to get this new job, by the way. It's here in Philly about 7 miles away. Will be so much nicer than the 38 mile commute I've been doing for over a year now!
Just thought I'd let you know that I did read this, Ziffel and I'm very pleased for you! I hope this works out for the best!! Enjoy your 7 mile commute!

Hey thanks, superfan. And further good news is this other job possibility I checked out a while ago might have a full time position for me too. And it's less than a mile from me! The one 7 miles away would be real nice but this would really be convenient and save even further on the gasoline. God is good!

And on "Elizabethtown" I'm disappointed to see it getting mostly fair or poor reviews. But Ebert gave it 3 out of 4 stars, at least. And seeing Kirsten Dunst should be worth the admission price anyway.
