Hey Luke, could you provide some more info about what happened at this reunion (date, location, events)?

Thanx man!

I thought you knew/had gathered? You didnt know for awhile(from what I heard on chat and implied on the old forum) you were like the quintessential MC poster gal? Kind of like the Aguilera of the MC forum world, like it was the 1940's MC guys going to war would have your likeness painted on the side of a war plane. Well, thats what it seemd like, or maybe it was a running joke:wink:

Yup, it was me who posted about the state of the Fraggle puppets, but from what i've heard Sprocket is ok,maybe Kermit could narrate the show and have Sprocket 'woofing' beside him.

Billy

I know very little about it. I think they sang Fraggle songs and did what they could with the puppets. I think it was held in Canada and Jerry Nelson didn't attend due to illness. Other than that, you'd need to ask Karen Prell or Terry Angus. It was a private occasion and from what i've heard everyone had a great time.

Sesame Street at MuppetFest

Assuming Creation runs their conventions like my group runs ours, it is entirely possible for the SS gang to be at MuppetFest.

basically, there is no "license" for a convention. take the con i work with every year, InConjunction. Our guest list for next year includes Billy Mumy, June Lockhart, Angela Cartwright, and Veronica Cartwright. We've also got guys building a B-9 robot. But we're not having a Lost in Space con...it just "happens" to work out that way. We also have other guests (Elizabeth Moon is the only other confirmed so far), that have nothing to do with LiS, but they're still going to be there.

basically, you pay the performers to come out. yes, Henson probably gets some of the money, but then this is specifically a Muppet con. but if Creation wants other people to stop by, all they have to do is throw some money in their direction (and probably get approval from Sesame Workshop...but c'mon who's gonna say "no" really?)

did i make any sense there?

If the people organizing MuppetFest at Creation and Henson ask Sesame Workshop to participate, well, then we might get Sesame Street included. Personally, I'd love to see a panel or two on SST. It is a huge part of the Muppets and should be represented.

Foam does not last forever. That is why Muppets get remade from time to time. Ever have an old couch or chair cushion? Over time the foam just crumbles away. Thus, the Fraggles need to be remade. Luke is right, we were told Sprocket was at MuppetFest last year, but we did not see him. After MuppetFest, when I brought this up on the forum, someone posted-- quite insistantly-- that despite what we were told, Sprocket is not in working order. Don't remember who said it, but I think we have to acknowledge the possiblity that Sprocket may not be in any better shape than the rest of the folks from Fraggle Rock. But that doesn't mean we can't have a Fraggle Panel.

Luke, the poseable Muppet dolls used for photography (the parody calendars and so forth) were on display in the Henson Museum at the last MuppetFest. They were roped off and, originally, we were not allowed to photograph them. I would love to see photo ops with Muppets, but Henson may not want all our greasy little hands on their very expensive dolls. Can't really blame them for that. All you need is one person with an uncapped ink pen and you have a disaster. Still, I hope they work something out!
