Hello everybody, it's my first post! :excited:

There were so many great guest stars on original Muppet Show (and some not-so-great), but there are some people I always wanted to see but never showed up. Among my friends it's a popular game - what 70s stars SHOULD have been on TMS, but weren't?

My top picks:

Gene Wilder
Bea Arthur
Tim Curry
Meat Loaf
Tom Baker (of Dr Who fame)
Billy Crystal
Freddy Mercury
Barry White

Who would YOU have liked to see?

MARTIN

Barbara Eden did appear with the Sesame Street Muppets in the early seventies. I have a photo of this. Unfortunately, I don't know much more about this appearance. It was likely on a special.

That is so cool that Barbara Eden appeared with the SS Muppets! I would love to see the picture. She is one of my favorite people.

Now back to the original question, I would've loved to have seen Elizabeth Montgomery appear on TMS. She was a lot of fun and I'm kindof surprised she never did.

I would've also liked to have seen:

Vicki Lawrence
Betty White
Bill Cosby
Janice Joplin
The Monkeys

Of course, Betty White too!

And Dr. Bombay, glad to see another Vicki Lawrence fan here!

I would have loved to have seen Roddy McDowall guest star on the Muppet Show. He was so good when he guest-starred on the Carol Burnett show a couple times, so doing the Muppet Show would have been no problem. Ray Bolger is another person I would have liked to have seen guest on the Muppet Show, and after reading (and helping with) Travelling Matt's TMS outline with Bob McGrath I think seeing Bob on the Muppet show would have been neat as well.

Yes, it's nice when other people turn out to have superior taste

p.s. Have you seen "Bringing Down the House"? Betty White's role in that movie is hysterical!! It's so unlike her.

That is true. Also Tim Curry starred with the Muppets in MTI. About Vicki Lawrence, I'm not too happy with her for insulting the Bible when she was on "Hollywood Squares," the rest of the guests listed would probably have worked well with the Muppets. I'll try to think of more ideas.
