p.s. Have you seen "Bringing Down the House"? Betty White's role in that movie is hysterical!! It's so unlike her.
Nope, not yet. But do you have Vicki's biography from '95?

:wink:

I think anybody from 1970's SNL, anybody else from The Carol Burnette Show (Both Asparagus Carol and Harvey made it to TMS, right).

I dunno who else.

I know a few times the Muppet performers had cameos in the show: I think most notable is someone's head in "Macho Man." LOL!! Kidding around here.

I wonder what a show with Rodney Dangerfield could have been like? EEK!

Dick Van Dyke on the muppet show would have been great. Maybe he could appear on the new show if it ever gets on the air, of ourse it probably won't be like it could hvae been had he done it back then.

Art Garfunkel never was on the Muppet Show, was he? Paul's appearance was great, and I would've loved to see my main man Artie have a chance to perform with the Muppets. :flirt:

Here's a list of celebs who I think could've made excellent guests on TMS:

* Alan Alda
* Bea Arthur
* Burt Bacharach
* John Candy & Eugene Levy (during their SCTV period) -- Could you imagine them performing a Schmenge Brothers sketch w/ Gonzo and his chicken friends? I could!
* The Carpenters -- esp. w/ a younger and healthier-looking Karen; Richard could've performed his Spike Jones-like send-up of "Close to You"
* Johnny Carson
* Cher
* Joan Collins
* Bill Cosby
* Barbara Eden
* Farrah Fawcett
* Connie Francis
* Elliott Gould
* Eric Idle
* Jay Leno
* Bob McGrath (of SS) -- He could've done a great comedy bit, perform a traditional Irish ballad, and a folk song for his Japanese fans. Would've been perfect!
* Ed McMahon -- He can be a big ham, but he could've been funny as a TMS guest.
* Meat Loaf
* Elizabeth Montgomery
* Mary Tyler Moore
* Bill Murray
* Burt Reynolds
* Diana Rigg
* John Ritter
* Mickey Rooney
* Jane Seymour
* Jaclyn Smith (during her Charlie's Angels period)
* Dusty Springfield
* Dick Van Dyke
* Dick Van Patten -- Don't know why I picked him, but I can somehow imagine him doing a good turn on the show.
* Flip Wilson
* Barry White
* Betty White
* Gene Wilder
* Shelley Winters (might've been better than Jonathan; he doesn't even credit TMS on his TVography at his Web site, btw)

Do you agree w/ these picks?

Whew! You really gave this question a lot of thought! I especially agree with Alan Alda (LOVE M*A*S*H -- Gary Burghoff would be even better!!), Burt Bacharach, John Candy and Eugene Levy, The Carpenters, Johnny Carson, Bill Cosby, Barbara Eden, Eric Idle, Jay Leno, Ed McMahon, Bill Murray, Mickey Rooney, Dick Van Dyke, Betty White, Gene Wilder... Aw, heck. I guess I pretty much agree with everybody. Why couldn't TMS have been on the air longer?

I'd also add Ella Fitzgerald and Olivia Newton-John to the list of guests that never were. They would've been excellent choices for singers, and I could imagine them blending in well w/ the Muppets.

Yes, you're right! I think he would've definitely been a great TMS guest! And Weird Al would've been good too, but he didn't make it big until 3 yrs after the series ended. Perhaps he would've fit in with MT.
