Quite frankly, most of these supposed "arugments" that have been popping up are nothing more than immaturity and people trying (that being the key term) to be funny. However, quite often, they fail at the humor and someone takes comments out of context. I'm not offended by people's comments usually (aside from a certain member not being punished for telling me to "go to [expletive deleted]" publically a long time back), but thats beside the point right now. Because this IS a family forum, it is important to stop these problems but it is not necessary to over-moderate and block everything that looks like it could be a problem. Quite often, I feel conflicted about posting ANYTHING that would seem "questionable" (such as quoting a JHH bit that used the word "sex" to demonstrate how edgy the show was) and it quite often feels like it could -- any day -- become a police state. I personally think that a nice set of ground rules should be laid out and edited to fit into the context of the NOW, not the MC of 2002 when most everybody that was on it was a migrant of the Delphi board and thus knew each other. People could get away with more those days because we knew each others' boundaries. These days, this is not the case. Few "originals" remain and even fewer will actually stand up to maintain the board. Every one I've spoken to has simply migrated to TP or elsewhere, or just given up. MC has become a joke to them.
That is what I see of MC these days. Clouded, the future is. One person cannot do it all by themself. You and Phillip both do whatever you can to deal with things and I completely respect how much PERSONAL time you two put in, but there really needs to be more control around here. Not a police state, but order: zany, Muppety order.
I'm sure that it is pretty implicit that I have my own personal and college commitments, but I still care about this place. I have made more good friends here than any other board and I want to preserve it for the others that have yet to experience what MC can be. Henceforth, I would like to volunteer my time in order to preserve this goal.
It was my dream for most of my life to work for the Muppets. Now I realize how unrealistic this dream is, considering my lack of experience and ability in puppeteering. However, I believe that if I can assist in maintaining MC, the good word of the Muppet message will be preserved for future Internet surfers that happen to click onto MC in the future as I did back in 2002. If I could have been here from day one, I would have been.
