Kelly (starts the shower): I don't know which ones I'll read for the next two. I absolutely want all my fun stuff done by Monday. Only one more free week to go before it's back to work. *sighs*

Mmm... Then you might not want KG. It's still unfinished and terribly long. Besides, you probably wouldn't be interested in who from the lot of us show up midway through what's been posted so far...
*Leaves the offer if Kelly seriously wants it. *Goes back to the Mews... *Sighs longingly at an update for Aunt Ru's magnum opus.

Kelly (comes into the common room with a little motorized fan that sprays mist): I think I'd like to go to heck. I've heard it's cooler there.

Pearl (bouncing around, listening to tunes): Oh, please ... evah live near a volcano?

Cotterpin (being carried by Hoggle because her scooter broke down in the heat): Yeah, well, we can't all be cold-blooded.

Pearl (turns and winks at Cotterpin): Hon ... with as much as I weigh ... mah metabolism don't make a dang bit o' difference.

Hoggle (watches BET): Uh ... *slobbers over all that bling*

Cotterpin (getting drenched): HEY!

 

[Muppet Newsgirl]

(Out on the commons, the gang is having a picnic dinner and a party - right now, everyone's drinking from crystal glasses of sparkling orange, pineapple and mango punch, with orange slices floating in it.)

Storyteller: All right, everyone, let's tell our favorite stories about Richard. I'll start...well, for me, it's got to be all those times when he escorted those children around the studios and put on quick shows for them. What was it he said..."Can you imagine the effect this has on a child's mind?" So true.
Beige: Oh, yeah, what about that time he went around the Fraggle set and zapped everyone with a water pistol - and then everyone got him back with the garden hose while they were on break. (slurps punch) Considering how hot it's been, I wouldn't mind getting sprayed with the hose.
Nora: Be careful what you wish for. (sips punch) My favorite story about him...I've got a couple. There's the one where Dave sprinkled sugar in his mouth while he was sleeping, and the time that Placido Domingo appeared on Sesame...but I really like the one where Richard saw that woman sitting in her car by the duck pond, crying, and he helped her out.
Erin: Oh, yeah, that's a good one. Richard to the rescue...I like the one where he and David Rudman went hiking to Machu Picchu, and it's fun to hear about his first directing gig on Fraggle Rock...and then there's that one tribute party the gang threw for him just before the end. (drinks punch) What about you, Scooter? You knew Richard best, so what's your favorite story about him?
Scooter: Wow, where to begin? Let's see...there's the day he auditioned for Jim and Jerry and Frank for the first time, and how when he was in high school, he helped one of his friends learn his lines for the school play, and how he had the route with the Record as a kid, and how he was really good with kids and...let's face it, every story about Richard is my favorite.
Storyteller: Mmm...let's finish up, and then we can bring out the cake, and more punch, and have our chorus of "It's in Every One of Us."

 

[The Count]

*As it's night out now, bats flutter about, delivering birthday presents.
*A package with the batty wrapping paper holding a pair of cool shades is left at Scooter's seat out at the party.
*A new loincloth for Sweetums...
*A rhyme dictionary for Don...
*A bigger silver wolf plush for Alex.

The gang from Room 1 pays their respects to Mr. Hunt, dear brother to our own organization's namesake at the JNC.

(Gang's ready to cut into the cake, an orange sponge cake with mango glaze filling and chocolate icing.)

Scooter: (to bats) Thanks, guys. (opens package) Oooh, shades.
Storyteller: Now, then, let's light the candles on the cake, and...
Beige: You know, you shouldn't put candles on cakes, because when you blow them out, you get germs on the cake, and they showed this in an experiment in petri dishes...
Nora: There goes my appetite.
Erin: Okay, fine, we'll 86 the candles. Maestro, "It's in Every One of Us," please.

Kelly (eats lunch while waiting for the pups to get groomed): So ...

Cotterpin (eating lunch): So ...

Kelly: I wonder if more people will interact when this "vacation" thing ends.

Cotterpin (shrugs): Maybe. How do you know you're gonna have time when your nursing class starts?

Kelly: 'Cause I gotta release stress somehow.

Cotterpin (smirks): Just admit it.

Kelly: What?

Cotterpin: You intend to "release stress" by bringing Spike back.

Kelly (blushes)

Cotterpin: Do you think he'll come? I mean, you were really into Digit and you still like Chamberlain. What if he feels like he's just being treated like the rebound guy? What makes you think he still cares about you?

Kelly: Did you even read Jareth's Summer Bash? He said he'd be there if I ever needed him. *sighs, pauses* And, after everything I went through with Digit and Chamberlain ... Spike was the only one who stayed at my side.

Cotterpin: Until you kicked him out.

Kelly (shrugs): I explained it to him. There was some male-dominance things going on. I didn't want to deal with it anymore. I just don't think it's a problem anymore.

Cotterpin: Yeah, good luck getting him away from his dinosaur girlfriend.

Kelly (grins): He's the Connoiseur of Fine Females. He bragged that he could get a different girl every weekend.

Cotterpin: And you WANT a guy like that?

Kelly: I know he loves me. Just like I love him. Spike's a harmless flirt. He saved Robbie from hurting Caroline, didn't he? He truly does have integrity. I know that's what he liked about me. I was sincere.

Cotterpin: You were sincerely thinking you and Digit would work out.

Kelly (sighs): ... Yeah. Still, Spike understood. He told me so. We were both unsure whether a human and a dinosaur would work out. He knew why I went after Digit.

Cotterpin (sighs): We're not going to make the room black with red splotches again, are we? That was just HORRENDOUS.

Kelly (laughs)

Kelly (gets back in from trying to repair the tent the puppies tore up): Huh?

Pearl: Yeah, we've been tryin' ta get ya for HOURS.

Kelly: I only just now received an email alert. So sue me.

Hoggle: Well, Ailie an' Ed are lookin's fer ya.

Kelly: Okay. *goes outside in the hall and inhales deeply* HEY EVERYBODY! ANYBODY LOOKIN' FOR ME?

Gah! Sorry to all... Fell asleep, lost track of time.
UD: Did you find it then?
Hush you. *All dress for going out on the town, then the crystal ball is used to get us where Kelly has gone.

Um, hello?

Kelly (gasps 'cause Ed just magically popped ... into the hallway of the dorms): Uh, hi. I think we're alone now.

Pearl (nods): Yeah. I reckon it got real late.

Cotterpin: Hoggle went off chasing Chamberlain. I have no idea why Kelly's up so late.

Kelly: I'm not waking up four hours later because the pups wanted to go pee. I'll deal with it now. *to Ed* I have no idea where Spammy wanted to go. Cait and company just sorta zoned out too.

Kelly: I'm really sorry. I was hoping for this "fun" thing to do, but I'm soooo sleepy. I need to turn in.

Cotterpin: You left the dogs in the yard.

Kelly (yawns): I'll get 'em. I'll get 'em.
