May I Make a Proposition?

May I propose that we here at Muppet Central NEVER mention a member's or members' death(s) anymore? Ever since bobhopesite, the topic of death of a member or members has raised several eyebrows; I believe I wasn't the only one who didn't believe Rosewood's death was real until it was too late, and now here was that... creature I eat muppets claiming it's friends (all of which were spammers here in the past) died in a car accident after coming home from a "Muppet convention". Death is a VERY serious thing, and should not be joked around with, because when that happens, then it steers people the wrong way then if someone really did have a sudden death, then most people will think it's just another sick joke being pulled.

So again, may I propose we never bring up a member's death again? Even if another member were to suddenly die in the future, I suggest we simply just don't say a word about.

I believe we need to be extremely cautious with reporting deaths, but I don't think it's fair to ignore them if they're totally legit and can be proved so. But only if they can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. Then a memorial thread, even if it gets posted quite some time afterwards, can be established. Perhaps only a death or memorial thread can be posted by a moderator.

I dunno, Snowthy. I understand you're intentions and where you're coming from, but I'm sorta on the fence with this one.

I don't believe that a real death should be ignored. For example, if something tradgic happened to one of the regulars here such as Beauregard or Ed (The Count), or RedBoobergurl, any of my good friends here (even yourself!), I would certainly want to know about it and be informed. If it is a true legitamit death, why ignore it and why not recognize the person? That is of course after it has gone through a moderator first. Make sense?

I agree BEAR there has to be some way that the mods can control death reports and verify whether it's true or hoax to balance the seriousness of both situations side.

If you were to die today, wouldn't you want us to remember you? IMO, discussing a death is OK if there is proof. And if you think you have proof of a members death, tell a moderator first so they can give you the OK to post a memorial thread?

Yeah, I'd want you guys to remember me... but I'd want to keep my death a secret because you know who all would actually hold a celebration for that.

Yeah, I have to agree with what the others have been sayin' Snowthy....if there's proof, then it's ligitimate.

And I was here last night to see the whole I Eat Muppets thing. Basically he was a NASTY spammer who not only spammed but said...well...sexual things...real nasty..
