Honestly, I would like to be remembered. If there's proof, then a memorial post would be appriciated. I think that you gotta take that up to an obit in the paper or a link to it anyways. I agree that death is nothing to joke about, but shouldn't be ignored.

Well Snowth, you have a good idea...but I would definatly rather go through the pain of finding out that someone has lied, than not know someone has died...

Take Billy's Girl, for example, she was an amazing member and friend and her memorial thread is something that will stick in my mind forever as the first close death to me...I wouldn't want to change that, no matter how many BobHopeSites come and go.

I promise everyone that if I die I will let a moderator know so he can post it.

Well don't worry everyone, I definitely will NEVER do something stupid like that ever again. Especially now that I'm very religious now. God Bless Everyone.

Well, I generally like to stay out of these things, but I need to get this out!
I know there are terrible people in the world, and some of them unfortunately find their way here. They spam, say horrible things of every discription, and even fake their own death sometimes.
But there are many more people who we all know well, and who many of us care about. I know if one of the people I consider friends here were to suddenly leave, and not come back, I would want to know why. That, and I think it would be very wrong to pretend that someone never existed, just because they're not around anymore. You would not just purposely abandon a friend in real life, so why should this be any different?
Bottom line... Just because there are some questionable people here, does not mean we should disregard and distance ourselves from everyone! I think that proof of someone's death should be given, prefferably by a moderator, although the mod-only rule might be hard to enforce.

And Muppetsrule, that might not have been the smartest thing to say. If you look at Rosewood's memorial thread for example, I believe it was a member of her family? that sent a link to her online obit to Phill. If anything were to happen to me, I'm not sure how, but I would make sure someone knew how to contact all of you.

Sorry Fragglemuppet but it was intended as a joke, hence the  . Hope it didn't offend.

And thanks D'Snowth. I've been around (visit MC everyday). Just haven't posted anything lately.

There's pros and cons to this, death is life, and we all live life, and we die. BUT some people tend to fake death, so.... I dont really know.

I dunno, Snowthy. If I died I wouldn't want "where's Dan" threads cropping up until I eventually just became an urban myth. Saying that, if I died I doubt such threads would occur. What was I just saying? Oh yeah, I must disagree with you on this instance, if someone died I'd want to die.

EDIT: I meant "if someone died I'd want to know" but I thought I'd leave the original typo in for hahas.

DanDan, that's very good of you to want to die if someone else does, but I don't suggest it. Last time it happened to me it wasn't any fun, and wasn't very temperate, either.

I'm going to lock this thread. Honestly, it's something that shouldn't even be a controversey (sp?) anymore. Rosewood was an honest report and we couldn't take it seriously because of other fakes. One fake has apologized and I'm okay with that (just watchful eyes).

My friend Angie has all my contact information and passwords sealed in an envelope if something ever happened to me. However, if something DID happen to me everyone would know it (and probaby have a big ol' party!), but I don't think we need to discuss something like this.

We can have such posts appear, but that there was a "Muppets Convention" in a post would be more than enough to let us know something is a lie because you KNOW that if such a convention were to happen we would know about it!!

It's a shame that in such a tight-knitted community as this we can't even trust such news any longer.

Let's just press forward and HOPE that we don't have to deal with any more false reports, eh?
