Chapter Twelve:

At the pizza place Ed and Lisa started bouncing out the door and almost ran smack into Maggie and Gobo.

“Ed! Lisa! What are you doing here?” asked Maggie.

“Nothing! Nothing at all,” said Lisa as her and Ed ran away and headed back toward the swamp.

“I wonder what they were up to?” pondered Maggie as her and Gobo sat down. Jerry came out to take their order and looked at the Fraggle with a puzzled look.

“Don’t ask,” said Maggie and Jerry smiled and went to cook up their pizza.

“I really can’t wait to find Red. You’re sure she’s safe with Kermit?” asked Gobo.

“Definitely. Kermit will take good care of her,” said Maggie. Gobo smiled at her reassurance.

Red started walking through the town of Hensonville as night began to fall. It was cold and the wind was blowing. She walked so far she didn’t realize she was almost to the edge of town. She also didn’t realize that she was lost.

She was busy feeling sorry for herself. She should have stayed in Fraggle Rock and talked to Gobo when he’d had some time to cool off. Kermit was right; he probably would have forgiven her. But now that she had run away all she had done was made him angrier.

Suddenly Red stopped when she finally figured out she didn’t know where she was anymore. While Hensonville is not a large town, it is easy to get a little lost if you don’t know your way around.

“Oh no! Now what have I done?” she thought. She looked around her and thought about how she had gotten to this point. But then she remembered it was her own fault. She missed Mokey, Wembley, Boober and Gobo more than ever now.

Gobo. He had come looking for her hadn’t he? Maybe the young frogs were wrong! Maybe he was trying to find her and rescue her. He was her hero. He always had been.

“I should go back home! I should find Gobo and tell him I’m sorry,” she thought. Then she thought about her other friends too. She had been pretty rough on all of them. Would they even want to see her?

“I’ve messed everything up! I don’t know where I am, I want to go home and I don’t know how to get there!” she exclaimed out loud. No one was there to hear her.

She looked down at herself. She really was a mess. Her hair was a mess; her shirt was torn and dirty. It would be easy to see that she really had been through an ordeal.

She wanted to go back and find Kermit and tell him she wanted his help, she wanted to go home, but she didn’t know the way. Sadly she found her way over to the side of the road and took shelter under some garbage cans sitting next to a house.

She was all out of tears so instead she closed her eyes and let sleep take her away from the misery she was experiencing.

Kermit looked at the clock as the gang was packing up getting ready to head back to the boarding house.

“Oh my gosh! It’s late! Where has Red gone?” asked Kermit.

“I haven’t seen her for awhile Uncle Kermit,” said Robin.

“The Fraggle is gone! Oh no! We have to find her!” said Fozzie.

“What do you want to do Kermie?” asked Piggy.

“Well, we have to look for her, she could be lost out in town someplace,” said Kermit.

“I’ll get everyone organized to search Boss,” said Scooter.

“I should have paid attention to the time, I just thought she needed some time to herself,” said Kermit.

“It’s not your fault,” said Piggy.

Just then the phone rang.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Maggie had decided to call Kermit before they left the pizza place to go back to the swamp for the night and alert Kermit to Gobo’s arrival. She was even hoping to get Red on the phone for Gobo, but she didn’t tell him that. She didn’t want to make him nervous.

“Hey Mit! I’ve got great news for you,” said Maggie when Kermit answered the phone. Gobo watched her expectantly.

“What? Oh no! Well, I’ve got Gobo here and he wants to come and get her!” exclaimed Maggie. Then she was silent as Kermit told her about the call he received from his niece.

“What? No! They’ve got it all wrong! Oh, wait until I get my hands on…” she said and then Kermit stopped her.

Gobo was getting worried listening to Maggie’s side of the conversation. Something didn’t sound right.

“Ok, we’ll take the last train tonight. See you soon!” exclaimed Maggie and hung up the phone.

“What’s going on?” asked Gobo.

“You’re going to get your first train ride right now. Red’s missing and they need our help!” said Maggie as she rushed Gobo out the door.

Gobo didn’t ask questions as they boarded the train. He just hoped this noisy, scary looking contraption could get them there in time.

Yeah... Hope Maggy and Gobo get there in time to get in on the rescue party...
BTW: Rully liked the appearance made by Jerry at the pizza shop in Leeland... Haven't been there or seen him in a while.
Keep us updated with the search party... Please?

Chapter Thirteen:

“All right, Maggie’s on her way,” said Kermit to Fozzie as he hung up the phone.

“Why is Maggie coming?” asked Fozzie.

“Maggie’s coming? She’s one hot…” started Clifford.

“Clifford not now! Besides, what about Skeeter?” said Kermit.

“Sorry man,” said Clifford.

“Anyway, Maggie’s got Gobo with her,” said Kermit.

“Who?” asked Fozzie.

“All right, all right, let’s have a quick meeting with everyone before we start our search party. I’ve got some catching up to do with everyone I guess,” said Kermit throwing his hands up in frustration.

“I’ll get everyone seated in the theatre Boss,” said Scooter.

“Great, we don’t have much time to waste,” said Kermit.

Down in Fraggle Rock Mokey was getting worried. It had been a couple of days since Red had run away and Gobo had left to find her. She thought they would’ve been back by now.

She was sitting with Boober and Wembley and Lou by the Sparkling Creek in the Cavern of the Sparkling Lilies. They were dangling their feet in the water.

“What if Gobo never finds Red?” Mokey voiced her fears out loud.

“I was wondering the same thing. What if Gobo never comes back?” said Wembley. Lou squeezed his hand.

“Oh come on you guys, this is Gobo! He’ll find her! And Red, she’s a fighter, she’ll be all right,” said Boober, though he didn’t sound too certain.

The two couples huddled closer together and silently wished that their other friends could be there with them and would come back soon.

“All right, the reason I’ve called you all here is because of our special visitor Red,” said Kermit.

“Red? Who’s Red?” asked Rowlf.

“She’s a Fraggle!” exclaimed Robin.

“I thought she was red,” said Beauregard.

“She’s a Fraggle whose name is Red all right?” said Kermit. He could see he was going to have to work hard to keep crowd control. He then went into her story, going all the way back to when he and Robin found the Fraggle hole at Fozzie’s mom’s house. He told them about how Red ran away and ended up at the swamp. Then he told them about her and Gobo.

It was so silent in the theatre a pin drop could’ve been heard. Floyd squeezed Janice’s hand. Rowlf put his arm around Wanda. Camilla clucked at Gonzo. Even Kermit met Piggy’s gaze.

Scooter spoke first. “All right, let’s find that Fraggle!”

Everyone cheered and then awaited further instruction. Kermit divided the group into a couple of search parties. He sent Fozzie to the train station to wait for Maggie and Gobo. He asked Scooter and a few others to stay at the theatre in case Red came back. Then, everyone went off on their assignments.

Gobo nervously twitched in his seat on the train. He was a little afraid of the train but he didn’t want to tell Maggie that.

“Oh shoot!” exclaimed Maggie suddenly.

“What?” asked Gobo.

“I didn’t tell anyone where we were going! What if some more of you creatures show up in our swamp?” asked Maggie.

Gobo laughed. “Most of the Fraggles are not as adventurous as I am, not even Red,” said Gobo and then explained to Maggie a little more about the world of Fraggle Rock. He told her about his Uncle Matt.

“Wow, Gobo, you are really brave,” said Maggie when he finished. Gobo blushed.

“Thanks,” he said.

“As soon as we get to Hensonville we will find Red and then we will get the two of you back to Fraggle Rock,” said Maggie.

“That sounds great,” said Gobo.

Red slept fitfully squished in by the garbage can. She awoke with a start. Night had really fallen now and it was dark and a little scary. She heard strange sounds all around her.

“Dance your cares away,” she sung nervously.

Meanwhile, a few feet away an older gentleman was walking with his dog. He was returning to his niece’s house where he was staying for a little while. Suddenly the dog jerked forward and pulled the man over to the side of the house.

“Worries for another day,” Red continued to sing.

“Woof!” barked the dog approaching her. At first Red was scared and shut her eyes until she heard a familiar voice.

“What did you find here Sprocket?” said the man.
