Is Frozen overrated?

Yep. Like that nontroversy he started up around the holidays where he said it's supposed to be un-P.C. to say, "Happy Holidays," instead of "Merry Christmas," because as far as he's concerned, being an American citizen automatically means you're a Christian, and therefore automatically celebrate Christmas . . .
While I wasn't going to elaborate on Drumph as this is not the right thread to do so, I find him an empty suit that just wants a Republican in charge so he can get a nice tax break when he licenses his name out for a casino. Basically, he doesn't even offer anything beyond the standard cheap far right talking points that have been there for years. I just find it shocking that anyone's noticing that stuff just now. It's like that Saturday night Live sketch said, they don't outright say they're racist, they just imply it with years of policy. It's not that Drumph (or Ronaldo Rump if you're a Biker Mice fan) routed out support by extremists that wasn't there to begin with. The Republican party had ample time and ability to change its image by marginalizing the more extreme and embarrassing views. But like I always say, the difference between conservatives and liberals is that conservatives will always vote Republican no matter what (especially since their views are more in tone to Libertarianism, rather than Neo-Conservatism), but liberals will always split, vote third party, and even stay at home during important off season elections, and whine the loudest when someone far right comes into power. So yeah, I kinda don't like them either.

However, I do get a sick sense of pleasure from seeing right wing politicians that actually shared Drumph's beliefs and supported his birther nonsense somehow get shocked to see him becoming the nominee. I'd say it's the equivalent of one of those bad cover records they feature sometimes on Oddity Archive. The party's hearing their greatest hits get mangled by a tone deaf, talentless hack and they don't like the result.

I'd just like to make my statement clearer. 1. No, I didn't try to offend you because I assumed you would vote for Bernie. 2. I don't intend to shut down everything because i stated my opinion, I just feel Political Discussion is a bit out of place here on MC.

Cool. I can go for that.

But I'll still mention politics and social issues as they apply to the discussion.

The funny thing is that we all seem to agree that Elsa doesn't need a girlfriend for the Frozen sequel. We just have different reasons. Maybe Olaf and Marshmallow can be an item. I could see it. To be honest, Marshmallow seems a little gender fluid and I don't think it requires explanation. :stick_out_tongue:

Edit to include picture...

When it comes to the movie, I honestly don't know what the sequel could be. And I'm double surprised that they're bothering with a Tangled cartoon series. Even the Zootopia crew wants to move on to where the birds and reptiles were in the film (their own continents, apparently), rather than a straight up sequel. Wreck-it Ralph's staff seems to hint that when he gets a second film, it might be all about what ever happened to Fix-it Felix Sr. So at least I know there's story there. Big Hero 6 is opting for an animated series in the meantime. Something I have been hoping for. Years of waiting for a possible sequel is one thing, but a Super Hero movie lends itself out nicely to a cartoon series or comic series. Though I can get why they never made an Incredibles cartoon, even if they went the Buzz Lightyear route of the cartoon being an in universe tie in to the Buzz Lightyear toy line.

It's funny, actually. Remember when we hated the idea of Disney DTV cheapquels to the core? When the idea of a sequel to a movie was so distasteful? Now they're making bigger budget continuing films for theaterical release with the same staff instead of just a glorified 90 minute cartoon episode that may get a soft theatrical release in February.

Threads at Muppet Central are for everybody. So censoring the thoughts and opinions of others is not okay. The LGBT topic has a current direct connection with this one. You might want to eradicate the thought of LGBT people in your life, but you cannot do so on the threads of this forum. LGBT folk are Muppet fans too. Actually, LGBT folk are Muppet performers too!

This sort of latent bigotry is tiresome. The "let's just not talk about gay people because I've already said what I want to about it" is quite self centered. If you don't have thoughts on that, skip those posts. It is that easy, fella. :stick_out_tongue:
I was simply making a joke. No hard feelings meant!

As skeptical as I am about a Frozen sequel, the fact that it won't be a cheapquel is the one thing I like about it. They haven't made a theatrical sequel since The Rescuers Down Under (I know there's that Peter Pan one, but it was initially made for a home video release, so it doesn't count).

Return to Neverland, right? Yeah, that and Jungle Book 2 don't count. Those are DTV's they decided to release theatrically. Sort of like how Doug's First movie was going to be a DTV and then at the last minute they gave it a release. Disney itself hasn't made a sequel film to an animated movie intended for theatrical release since then, it's true. Both Planes movies weren't intended to be released theatrically, but the first one managed to get a "might as well give it a try" release and the second film got one because Good Dinosaur was delayed and they needed a summer release to fill that gap. I have every reason to believe that we'd be on Planes 4 by now if they were all released to DVD. Maybe even looking at the second Boats film.

I also agree that we're getting the same team and this isn't one of those cheaply tossed to their TV animation studios deals, which will make it a quality film regardless what anyone's feelings on the first one was. It's not something they rushed out fast either. We still have Moana and that Jack and the Beanstalk retelling (I forget the name, and only remembered it because it was one of the bootlegged videos that Duke Weasleton was selling in Zootopia) to be released first. Pixar also seems like it's a sequel factory now, but the only films they release that were close to each other were Toy Story 2 (which Disney was forcing them to do as a cheapquel) and Cars 2. We have at least 3 years before Incredibles 2, a good 15 year wait since the first one.
