I hate to burst the bubble but Mr. Cleese (however funny he may be) didn't write that satirical piece. The moderator from the official Python message board has posted that Cleese did not write it nor does does he want his name attached to it.

It was posted at the following address about a year ago.

Ok I'll answer that. Yes I dislike Bush. All along he pushed for a war. Yes he gave some time , but come on. There were other options. Give the inspectors more time, I think it was mentioned before but Saddam wanted to have a conference with Bush. Why didn't he take the offer? Afraid he would look like an idiot? Well that wouldn't have been hard. I'm embarassed that our
'President", who by the way never won ANY election to be where he is at. Again, daddys money got him through that like it got him through school, got him out of the draft and out of trouble for being AWOL from of all things the Texas National Air Guard where he defended the Gulf of Mexico. He only knows one thing WAR, WAR, WAR! He will get us in more trouble than he is worth. You said that saddam is a bully, look at your president. He is now about to carpet bomb a country that is already in the stone age under the veil of freeing the people. In my opinion he is just trying to muster up some popularity before election time by keeping everyone scared. Think of this, why was it that everytime Bush felt like he wasn't getting anywhere with his war options the country would go to code orange?

True, the U.S. did support Saddam in their war against Iran. That was a different time and era however. It was in the height of the cold war when the U.S. was looking for political influence in that part of the world as opposed to communist Russia's influence. We were also opposed to the regime of Ayatolah Khomeini (sp?). That was then, this is now. The politics of the world are constantly changing and every country, not just the U.S., changes its alliances accordingly.
Exactly why we shouldn't fight other people's wars, they come back to bite us on the *****!!! It's all because we had to get involved with Israel and both sides of religion brainwashed dunderheads with guns!!!!

I have changed my Avatar to show where I stand on the war...

WAR?!?! W-w-w-w-w-w-w-war??? WAR!!! WORLD WAR 3!! HEEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!! HEEEE-LLLLLPPP!!! ARMAGEDDON! ARMAGEDDON!!!! Arm' a geddin' out of here.....

Why ? Iraq didn't give a full declaration of what they had, the inspectors weren't secret agents on the hunt for weapons, they simply destroy what Iraq says they have. If Iraq has something like Anthrax, but doesn't say so - then the inspectors destroy the tiny amount of stuff Iraq says it has and then declares Iraq free of WMD, Iraq still ends up with the Anthrax and can use it against us at some point in the future. The inspections were pointless !

Was there any indication that they found any chemical weapons? No. In fact even the countrys that surround Iraq say there is little or no chance at all that they have amassed more weapons. Including Isreal.hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I am hearing more irrelevant Bush-bashing. I see it as fanaticism that negates any point being made. Bush won by the laws of this nation. He won the election even though he didn't win the popular vote. It shouldn't have been that close in the first place. The real question is how did Gore drop the ball? I hate partisan politics.

How are the inspections helpful when the Iraqis receive 48 hours notice to prepare for them? It all seems rather silly. It's like saying the police in this country should give suspected criminals 48 hours notice before serving a warrant. That is not a realistic alternative.

The one fact that we keep forgetting is Saddam's plot in the 90s to assassinate former President Bush. This is a really bad guy. I think it's funny how some people choose to spend so much effort defending this man.

They've just launched scuds they weren't supposed to have, and the Al Samoud missile was falsely specified in Iraq's declaration and they were trying to extend it. Also there were the drone planes that were capable of carrying chemical and biological matierial. All this wasn't declared by Iraq, so what else haven't they declared ? Could we trust them to make a full and honest declaration ? Without one the inspections are worthless.

Also what about all this anthrax and other bad stuff Iraq had at the end of the first Gulf War ? Are we seriously supposed to believe the Iraqi's took it out into the desert and just destroyed it, and why is there no proof now ? This is a guy who gassed his own people and has personally tortured others - you think he's suddenly turned into 'Pixie The Happy Little Elf' ?

We have to do something about this guy, and we can't rely on him to be honest telling us what he has so we can go destroy it. I suggest if you think that a few inspectors destroying a tiny amount of weapons that were declared is enough to stop all the crap going on in this country then you should go and spend a week in an Iraqi jail - spend some time in the torture and rape rooms that defectors and our own captured soldiers have experienced - then maybe your views would be a little more realistic !
