Just for kicks, I've been imagining what would it take to construct your very own life-like SESAME STREET SET in your backyard?

If money were no object, then here are the elments to bring the show into your reality:

1) Your own SESAME STREET LAMPPOST, in the same style as it is on the show:

Cost: 600.00

2) One ROUND LAMPPOST GLOBE to put on TOP of the LAMPPOST:

2) Your own metal SESAME STREET SIGN to attach to the lamppost:

Cost: 1.00

3) One aluminum trash can for OSCAR'S TRASH CAN:

4) One wooden BARREL for UNDER OSCAR'S TRASH CAN:

Cost: 10.00

5) One PROP FIRE-HYDRANT:

6) One commercial drop-off MAILBOX (paint it blue):

Cost: 540.00

7) Throw in replica puppets of:

GROVER, THE COUNT, ERNIE, and ELMO at approx. 450.00 each:

8) Throw in a MASTER REPLICAS KERMIT THE FROG for 180.00

And you're halfway there to creating 123 SESAME STREET in your very own BACKYARD. Just hire your neighbors to play the parts of Bob, Gordon, and Susan.

You just need to hire a carpenter to build you a brownstone and you're golden!

You just need a drill that cuts through metal to screw in the screws for the hinge. You should also expect the lid to not close perfectly once the hinge is on (just like on the show) because the hinge will cause the lid to be skewed and not square with the opening of the trash can.

Also...

You'll probably need to cut a hole in the back of the trash can so that you can fit your arms in (just like Carroll Spinney) to operate your Oscar puppet. Just be careful to have plenty of bactine handy for the cuts you'll be getting scraping your skin against the edges of the trash can!
