I do love the philosophical Dr. Teeth, but I could have used more hero-worship from your protagonist! In my book, meeting the good doctor would out-rank holding onto a lackluster job!

Alex is the name of the guy in the car who talks to Dr. Teeth. He's just someone who I came up with for the story, just an ill-prepared traveler who really needed a GPS.

Very cute. The dentist's office being "one of their more lucrative gigs" cracked me up. Ditto the "pound" joke. So... was that actually Teeth's house? Or was he, y'know, just keepin' the possums away whilst a friend of a friend was on vacation? (I can absolutely see him being an unasked house-sitter in the Hills...)
