Dude. If you're at the drive-in, it HAS to be a double feature. Them's rules and all.

Rhonda: Oh gawd. She's slipping into Texan-defamation mode.

:news: Do we have to put a pillow under her tongue or something?

A dancing film. Hmmm. Chicago? Anything but Mamma Mia!

:news: I know all the words to "Take a Chance on Me."

Rhonda: Of course you do. *eyeroll*

Do you now. What if I did?

:news: Did what? Sing?

Rhonda: THAT'S it. I'm outta here. Pool time!

Long live Abba! *Curses the fact that Mama Mia is the one movie I stayed quiet when I went to see it at the theater with my mom while all the people around were indeed singing.
Take A Chance, the official theme of the NFL Draft. Does Newsie know it was performed by a group of birds on a telephone wire at the Muppet Theater?
Maybe Ru will have a suggestion or two should she pop in and see our chat.
*Fatatita purrs. No dear, didn't mean you. *Sets bowl of cream.

Rosita: How are you feeling?
I'm all right. The weird thing is that normally rainy days bug the living daylights out of my head. But I guess because the sky's been so dark and dreary, my head doesn't hurt as much.
Rosita: Thank goodness for little things like that, huh?
Yeah...too true.
Chef : I'm cleening der kitchee. Su if enywun wunts enything ,get it now.
Nah..nothing for me. Oh yeah..better put this in the dishwasher * getting my glass of soda and dumping it in the sink, then putting the glass in the dishwasher*

That's psych-O Chef. PsycHIC is when you can read minds or sort of tell the future.
Chef: Oooh... I knew thet. (but looking embarrassed)
Okay..whatever you say.

Bert: A perfect score?

Ellie: *continues to dance* Yep! You seem surprised.

Bert: Well, given all the goofing off you do...

Ernie: This calls for a celebration! *walks into the room with a confetti cannon* Congrats Ellie! *fires confetti cannon*

Ellie: Woo-hooo! *cheering*

Susie: Guys, please don't make a...*enters room to see confetti everywhere* mess...

Ernie: There were streamers in here...*pulls cord on confetti cannon again, streamers shoot out and pelt Bert* There they are!

Bert: *sighs and blows a piece of streamer out of his face*

Rhonda: Hark! I hear party noises! *grabs sparklers and case of Boors Lite*

I could go for a party. *whips up some cupcakes with confetti sprinkles*

:news: Uh...congrats Ellie! Uhm...what sort of gift is considered appropriate for getting a perfect grade?

Well, my mom always used to take my brother and me to a wicked cool ice cream parlor for a "King of the Fountain Sundae". 32 scoops, 4 syrups, whippy cream etc.

:news: Goodness! And you...um...

Ate it all. Yes we did. Here, help me carry the cupcakes.

*the troop goes to knock on Ellie's apt door bearing fun things*

Ellie: *gets cupcakes left at door by the generous Kris and party* Aw man, we just missed them! This was really nice of them though, we'll have to thank them

Bert: *still picking streamers out of his hair* How so?

Susie: How about a very unmessy gift?

Ernie: *laughs* Oh Susie, you worry too much.

Ellie: Let's bake them a cake  Super-chocolate with a chocolate chip cookie crust, so, technically its a cake pie!

Susie: That doesn't sound so messy

Ellie: Wooo-hooo baking montage!

:news: Agh! Why is my hair full of flour??

Oh. Um...I think you got hit by spillover from the baking montage.

:news: *goes off to shower, grumbling under breath about perpetual falling stuff syndrome*

Rhonda: Reminds me of that Disney cartoon with the haunted house. The one where they wind up --

Covered in floury goop. Yeah! *grins* You pondering what I'm pondering?

Rhonda: Do I look like a MOUSE to you? BROWN fur! BROWN!

Come on, gimme a hand with this. *they drag a sack of flour and a carton of eggs down the hall toward the sound of running water and a midrange scratchy tenor trying to sing "I Will Survive"*

UD: What Disney short would that one be?
Me: Oh, Kris means the short titled The Lonesome Ghosts, where Mickey and Donald and Goofy are the Ajax Ghost Catchers Company.
UD: Ah, from the days before proton-powered wands and portable vaporial containment traps.

:batty: hugs Fatatita as yesterday was Hug-a-Cat Day.
And today marks the start of another Atlantic hurricane season.
UD: As well as it being National Doughnut Day.
Me: Good thing we picked up a key lime pie, no doughnut, but it's the next best thing.

*Invites Kathy and Kris if they want some slices.

Robin goes next door to get a slice of key lime pie
I'm the only one that likes key lime. But Mom says thanks anyway. She wants you to know that she ALWAYS takes part in Hug A Cat day. *laughing* Thanks for the pie.
