They may not be muppets, but they are AWESOME. Any fans of the movies here besides me?
They must have done that so it would make more sense to video owners (though I think it's shown on TV airings, too). However, the original scene is on DVD.The one thing I'll never understand about Gremlins 2 is...
When I saw it at the movies and on subsequent TV airings, the part where the gremlins cut off the movie during the lab sequence, we then see them taking over a high class cinema where a snooty consierge goes into the seats and next thing we know Hulk Hogan's talking smack to get the movie back on course.
But when I rented the movie from a Blockbuster or similar store once, that entire sequence was replaced with the gremlins in first a Western ghosttown setting and then in a gangster movie being gunned down by Dirty Harry on a rooftop before returning to the movie proper.
That was the version of the Gremlin takeover that they did specifically for the video release, where the Gremlins break your VCR and take over your TV. Though it wasn't Dirty Harry they were gunned down by, it was John Wayne. When I saw it at the movies and on subsequent TV airings, the part where the gremlins cut off the movie during the lab sequence, we then see them taking over a high class cinema where a snooty consierge goes into the seats and next thing we know Hulk Hogan's talking smack to get the movie back on course.
