Even though it's already been a couple of years since the Fix-it-Shop was relocated from it's original suite in the tenament building on the street and replaced with Leela's laundromat, while at the same time Hooper's was modernized into a convenient store... I just now realized something... there's a VERY striking similarity here in my community...

For years, there was (and still is) a little strip of shops in the neighborhood, more specifically in the Hispanic part of the neighborhood; among the shops is a building that houses two businesses - one of which is a laundromat, and next door to that is a convenient store.

What a coincidence, eh?

Um... why was this thread moved to the General Discussion board? It applies to modern-day SST, which is why is was posted their in the first place.

I cannot answer your question Snowthers, though I certainly agree it is a remarkable coincidence indeed.

That crap happens all the time. Really... for the longest time, every store I liked was replaced with either a cel phone store or a tanning salon. I REALLY hated that since we lost some great places in the process.

Like I said a while back - for YEARS we had a Dunkin' Donuts here and town that went out of business a few years ago... just now, it was replaced by a $3 car wash.

Back in the 80's, my town used to have 2 cool video arcades that I loved to ride my bike or my parents drove me there. But a couple of years later, they both got replaced by a laundromat and a bank.

It just occurred to me reading these replies Snowth that perhaps the mods foresaw that the discussion would potentially pan away from Sesame Street almost, if not completely, immediate.

Jeez... over here you can't punt a football without hitting a Dunkin Donuts. Krispy Kreme failed hard, Honeydew stays strong, but it's impossible NOT to find one around here.

Never heard of Honeydew, and I'm no fan of Krispy Kreme.

Please send one of your Dunkins over our way, please. I MISS those strawberry frosted doughnuts something awful!
