Don't think I ever saw this thread before. Oh well, I will mention some of my favorite/memorable scenes:
--"The Grouch Anthem" (wonderful opening with this number featuring Oscar in front of a giant American flag. I wonder what the idea was behind this.)
--When Big Bird says goodbye to everyone, ESPECIALLY the Snuffy scene.
--Big Bird on the plane singing really loud. "LA LA LA LA...*ahem*..."
--Big Bird's letter.
--Kermit's cameo.
--The "wild goose chase" meeting at Hooper's Store.
--When Big Bird meets the turkey truck driver and the whole "Ain't No Road Too Long" sequence. Big Bird: "But my friend Oscar always says that I'm a 'big turkey'." Driver: "Well, I don't guess I can argue with that. Hop in!"
--"One Little Star" with Big Bird, Olivia and Snuffy.
--"Easy Goin' Day"
--Bert and Ernie's "Upside-Down World"
--Big Bird imagines Snuffy
--When the kids sneak backstage to see Big Bird in the cage. The close up of that real tear rolling down his beak always chokes me up.
--When all the friends are at the carnival trying to save Big Bird from the cage. Especially Linda getting the keys from Sam, and Cookie getting the cookies from Sid. "Don't wake up, don't wake up. Thank you. Ha ha." Is it safe for me to say that it is Grover's fault that the brothers woke up?
--Olivia ripping Gordon's pants.
--Maria's monologue at the end.
--When they are pushing the VW around the corner with Cookie still chopping on the hood. "Gordon, what happened to the car?" "Don't ask me, ask him!"
--Oscar's last lines with Bruno walking down the street. "Once more around the block, Bruno...I gotta walk off some of this happy stuff." Bruno stopping to watch all the kids. Oscar looks right at him and says "Bruno, come on."
--The Count counts the credits.
