Chapter Fourteen
Early Springtime - 2004
They piled out of the van, and made their way up to the theatre. It had been awhile for all of them, and Jerome had never been here at all.
"So this is the famous Muppet Theatre, huh?" He asked, running a hand through his thin hair.
"Yep. Lots of chaos went on in this place." Scooter opened the door, and a rubber chicken came flying out over their heads. Sara caught it with her hand, and laughed.
"And I'm suprised it's still in one piece!" She said, laughing. Tossing the rubber chicken back inside the backstage area, the four of them started inside.
"Sorry! Sorry!!! Now where did that rubber chicken go?" Fozzie was asking, as he came up towards the back door. He picked up the chicken, and he heard someone laughing softly. "It wasn't that funny, it just got out...of...control." He slowed down, and looked upwards at the old bear, laughing softly.
"You still play with that old rubber chicken, son?" She said, a bright smirk crossing her face.
"MA!" He nearly strangled her in a hug, then he reached behind and gave Doc a huge hug as well. "DAD!!!"
"Hello there, Fozzie! WAH-HA...wow...you-you've got quite a grip there!" Doc managed to sputter out as Fozzie was tightly hugging him.
"Sorry, sorry there Pops." He smoothed out Doc's waistcoat, and smiled brightly. "What brings you two here?"
Scooter stepped forwards, and handed a letter to Fozzie. "Where's the Chief, Fozzie? I gotta talk to him."
"SCOOTER! Oh, wow! You're back too!! AND SARA!!!" He grabbed both of them, and hugged them tightly as well, then he grabbed both Emily and Jerome with his other arm, and hugged them all at once. He was estatic to see them all.
"Yeah...yeah, glad to see you to, Foz." Sara grumbled, as she tried to get out of his hugging grip. "Fozzie? Fozzie! FOZZIEE!!" She finally yelled, as he quickly let go of her.
"Yes?" He asked, innocently.
"Thanks for letting go of me. No one's blown up the bathroom today, have they?" Sara asked plainly.
"No, not that I know of." He replied back.
"Good. I'll be back, in a bit. And Scooter, hun? Ol' Chiefy's probably up in his office, if he's not down here at his desk." Sara replied, before she hurried off to the bathroom.
Scooter went upstairs to Kermit's office, and knocked on the door. Kermit opened it up, and the two of them began talking about the movie. Fozzie, on the other hand; took his parents, and went out onto the stage to show them how well the theatre looked since they had been last. Well, since Emily had been last, Jerome had never come out there before.
"This is quite a nice place, son. I'm suprised I've never been out here before." Doc replied, looking around the place; with wide eyes.
"Well, it looks a whole lot better then it did last time, honey." Emily said, smiling. "Oh I see you fixed up the stage finally. Had that huge hole that kept reopening. I think that huge brown monster fell in last time."
"Oh yeah. Sweetums fell in, he had Robin in his hand too!" Fozzie replied, frowning a little bit. "That's what caused Kermit to go ahead and find a contractor the next day. Robin almost got hurt. If it wasn't for Sweetums, the little guy might have had a broken leg, or worse!"
"Oh dear. That's horrible sweetheart." She said, as they sat down out on the stage. Turning to Jerome, she smiled a little bit. "You said you'd never been out here before, right?"
"Yes. I've never been in here." He said, with a soft smile on his face.
"Then what was that red velvet in the ring box?" She asked him, with a wry smile on her face.
"Oh...that? Well...uh...it was just something I had laying around. I didn't particularly like that black stuff in the box, so I put it on some red velvet. Just thought it would like nicer." He said, stammering a little.
"You are such a kidder, Jerome." She said, smiling brightly towards him. The night was reaching on, and the three of them told all kinds of stories about the farmhouse, and the theatre.
