Episode 406 has one letter sponsor: D, but it has a segment about the letter E: E for Enter and Exit.
Maybe it's more because of the opposite pairing of Enter and Exit being featured on the episode.

Episodes 2843 and 3088, despite being sponsored by 10, had They Can't Take That Away from Me, a song about the number 0. Multiple other non-0-sponsored Sesame Street episodes after Season 19 also incorrectly had They Can't Take That Away from Me.
Including Episode 2496, in which 4 was the number sponsor.

Also, the first three episodes that featured the "Hello, Sammy" segment with Carol Channing - a segment about the letter S - were apparently sponsored by D, K, and 5 (Episode 1951); N, O, and 9 (Episode 2006); and c, d and 9 (was it 2030?) respectively. All subsequent airings of that segment were in episodes sponsored by S.

Most episodes that had the Joe Raposo song "J Jump" did not have the letter J as a sponsor. If my math is correct, only three of the episodes that featured that segment had J as a sponsor (including the first two airings, and Episode 839).

Episode 676 had "Sand A/a" despite that the letter A was not a sponsor. The background on that segment was red. The episode was brought to you by Q, U, and 12.

Ten episodes earlier, Episode 666 (the Season 6 premiere) had the "Dialing for Prizes Movie" segment, which was a letter F segment - that episode was brought to you by e and 2.

The initial appearance of Monsterpiece Theater: Much Ado About Nothing, which was a number 0 segment, was in a 17-sponsored episode (2991) of Sesame Street. The two subsequent airings of that segment were in 0-sponsored episodes.

3149 had three segments about 20, despite 4 being the number sponsor.

Episode 154, where the number of the day was 4, has "The New York Knicks make 11 shots, but miss on the 12th.", a segment about 12. Subsequent appearances of that segment were in episodes sponsored by 12.

The "3 Cuckoo Birds" segment, normally a segment about the number 3, was featured in episodes not brought to you by the number 3. One of them was Episode 2355. the Season 18 finale.

"The Mystery of the Four Dragons" was supposedly a segment about the number 4 - but was seen in many episodes not brought to you by the number 4.

Keith Haring: 1-10, despite being a segment about 10, appears in many episodes not sponsored by 10, but it does appear in at least one 10-sponsored episode: 3419.

Appliance Numbers 1-10/10-0, a segment about 10, appears in multiple episodes not sponsored by 10, but it does appear in at least one 10-sponsored episode: 3058.
