It comes back to the thing where lots of people think puppets are for kids or aimed at kids! THEY ARE NOT! PUPPETS ARE FOR ALL AGES! In the case of Crank Yankers this show is definately not aimed at kids. Most of the stuff in the show would go over a younger kids head anyway!

Even the muppets contain jokes that only adults would get! therefore its ok for kids to watch!

got to agree with punknpuppets here,

if you dont like something dont support it dont watch it, nobody is forcing you to,

secondly, as i have stated before in other threads , any puppet project that uses hand and mouth puppets is going to look muppet like, its a style of puppetery much like animation, Wrner Bros and Disny both did cartoons, does that mean that one was ripping off the other?

its all in the style of hummor and how it is marketed,

avenue q has the same problem, if you saw the show and didnt like the contenet , would you wwrite a letter and tell them that they should change to satisfy your own tastes?

this is America and we all have the right to pick and choose waht we watch and listen to, adn if you are a parnet you have the right to monitor what you kids listen to , but i think it is very wrong to expect that evry thing on Tv satisfies one group of peoples tastes and not another,

i may not like crank yankers even though i worked on it, but some people do, and if they can get past the puppet stigma and enjoy it, thats great it just opens up more doors for puppet programs, to bad greg the bunny didnt catch on , personally , i would rather we had more shows like them, since all we have on tv right now as far as puppets go are some terrible shows like LAZY TOWN, and (yes i realize peoplewill hate me for saying this ) SESAME STREET, the writing is terrible the concepts are way to dumbed down, and if i was a parent i wouldnt let them watch those shows, :frown: :grouchy:

bring back shows like fraggle rock , and i think we all would be happy, lol :smirk:

well i used to like sesame street, but the last 10 years the show has seen a done turn in the quality of its productions, and quite frankly , i have a had enough of the one trick pony called ELMO, could trhat charecter be any more anoying, and the recent change in formats has turned it in to just another bad kids show, they really need to get back to thier roots, more story , more interesting animations and puppet bits, and get rid of Journey to Ernie, Elmos World, and Global Grover.

I'm glad there are others speaking out against Elmo. Just because he's ticklish he gets not only his own drawn out, stupid segment but he gets to be the main player on The Street as well. What a crock. I agree about the dumbing down of the show, too. According to my mom, back in the day I learned to count to 10 in Spanish the same time I learned to count to 10 in English, all thanks to Sesame Street. Does SS do that for kids now? I'm not saying that learning basic Spanish is going to make anyone a genius, but today, SS is doing more to teach how to speak with speech impediments thanks to characters like Baby Bear (he can't pronounce his aw's) and Elmo (who speaks English like an NBA player) than teaching anything intellectual. Bring back the good old days of diverse characters getting equal air time (wasn't this one of the main points of Sesame Street to begin with, to accept all types of people no matter their ethnicity or culture?) Today, we have more of a "Saved By the Bell" format on Sesame Street, where the same few people run the entire friggin' show every single day and it rots my brain. Who knows what it's doing to the children? :frown:
