Correlation, not causation

states have barely been open for 5 days. the virus takes upwards of two weeks to start showing symptoms (unless they've changed that estimate and I don't know about it)

if the virus takes nearly 2 weeks to show symptoms, and states have barely been open for 5 days...explain to me how the reopening is causing the cases.

also the title doesnt match the content of the video at all. admittedly i skipped through it a bit but they really did not talk about rising cases in the video at all. though that said, no duh there's going to eventually be a rise in cases. at this point the news is running out of stuff to report on so they're either reporting on stuff we all already know, making stuff up, or apparently using clickbait titles now.

The video talks about world wide cases rising as states reopen. It's a statement that is technically true, but the two clauses don't directly relate to each other.

The question is not if there will be more cases. There will always be more cases. The question is the rate of hospitalization. The shutdown was never meant to keep people from getting sick at all, it was meant to slow the spread to keep hospitals from getting overrun with cases.

Frankly, i would like to be back working if for no other reason that it means keeping my companies health insurance.

Just found out today that schools in Connecticut will remain closed for the rest of the school year. The earliest that students will return is August. Teachers will be allowed to go back (date TBD) to get extra teaching supplies or anything else they've left behind prior to March 12.

oh wow. I didnt realize it was that big of a difference money wise

and the sad thing about it is, reports are even saying that ventilators dont work and are actually killing patients. the problem is ventilators are designed to promote breathing in people with weak lung muscles. virus patients have perfectly functioning lungs. something is blocking their blood from absorbing oxygen, so a ventilator just isnt gonna work for that

thats a big yikes in more ways than one

Here's a little something that's very similar to what Sarge mentioned a while back:

Curious if you believe this is true or not, D'Snowth? From your post I take it you do. But the claim was made by a REPUBLICAN on FOX!!! Of course it puts you in a pickle. Who to blame? FOX News? The evil Republicans? Or our evil healthcare system?

They reported on the news, because of the virus, a lot of meat packing plants because people were getting sick. So meat prices are rising, and we might see a possible shortage.

The only other time I’ve seen this was in the early 70s, when I was about five.
Out of necessity, Hamburger Helper was invented.

The deaths in the nursing homes are absolutely awful. I have no idea why Cuomo forced sick patients back to the homes. It sounds like this decision lead to cases to skyrocket. Truly awful. As someone who interned at nursing homes this really hits close to home. I can't imagine what the poor residents and their families went through.
