What characters (humans and muppets) would you like to see return to Sesame Street in the future? Here's my list...

Humans
  • Ruthi
  • Linda
  • Gina (I know she's still on, but you hardly see her anymore)
  • Susan (ditto)
  • Celina
  • Olivia

Muppets
  • Lulu (Stephanie D'Abruzzo's Lulu, not the one Thijs talked about)
  • Kermit the Frog
  • Little Bird
  • Biff and Sully
  • Bruno
  • Sherlock Hemlock
  • Kingston Livingston III

I forgot about Guy! Yeah, I'd love to see him again! Since Jim dies in 1990, and they retired Guy, I vaguley remember any Guy Smiley skit. My guess is that either Steve or David would perform Guy if they bring him back.

I would also like to see Linda back. I wonder why she left in the first place. She was there for a long time though. Mid 70s to (i think) mid-late 90s. I just loved her. And it was great to see her in such a prominate role in Follow That Bird.

I also want Hoots back. He sometimes shows up in repeat sketches but nothing much.

Someone pointed out awhile back (maybe it was either ssetta or mike), but they just didn't any room for her on the show anymore. It is a shame, I thought she was a great model for deaf children who watched the show. Occasionally, they still show a short sign-language bit with her and a kid.

It's like I said, I had Gina and Susan on the list because, even though they're still on the show, they're rarely seen any more. In fact, so far Susan has only appeared once this season (but then again, the rest of the season hasn't aired yet). Last season, Susan only appeared twice (in The Street We Live On, and Elmo, Gordon, and Miles's Music).

Actually, the role has already been brought back... kinda. In the "Sesame Street presents the Body" museum exhibit, there were some pre-recorded character voices. Guy was in there, and Eric Jacobson ended up performing him. If I'm not mistaken, that's the first time he's portrayed a non-Frank character!
