I had a similar experiance. It isn't just the employees, it's the store itself! I bought the exclusive E.T. Pez dispenser and it was close to 2 dollars!!! Apparently exclusive means that they can charge whatever they bloody want and they can get away with it, because there is no competition.

As far as Rizzo, I am undecided. If you were to add another character in the package, he might as well be scale. But if Sweetums is the same size as everyone else, maybe that will work. They'd look weird together, but I don't think people here would mind enough not to buy it anyway!

SSNay, I said I was trying to get something together. There isn't a list right now, and I'm not quite sure if would be SCS specific, I'll post on SCS when I get more info.

And Ken, my sarcasm detector started smoking when I read your explanation of the Beaker campaign.

THE ANSWER

I am just throwing this out there...

I know nothing about the cost that this idea would involve....but here it is...

How about a full sized Rizzo like some people are wanting. Poseable and all that. Package him with a piece of cheese and a small PVC (to scale...2 1/2 or 3"??) Rizzo!!

It seems that creating a small scale Rizzo would be just as much work as creating different accessories for the full sized one to come with right?

This is one way to make everyone happy...except those who want a medium sized Rizzo (???).

good idea? bad idea?

OK Kane

I just wanted to know if ken was really going to do it or not. I dont doubt you at all kane. I am just really excited about this figure. If it was not for vc beaker and the awsome sculpting on animal I would have pased up collecting muppet figs. I am not going to hunt down all. I just want to get the figs. of my favotrite figures.

I posted this same response under the poll for the Rizzo figure size. Sorry if it's repetitive. I don't post that much anyway. I'm in a hurry and can't type a new one, but wanted to leave my thoughts and ideas on Rizzo here too.

I'm voting for a small, almost in scale-sized Rizzo character. Slightly larger than "in scale" would be, but still slightly smaller than the official "in between" vote.

And I think it would be hilarious and lots of fun if Rizzo came with a pair of stilts as accessories! Something you could peg his feet onto that would boost his height, and give him a little more movement and articulation. This would fit perfectly with Rizzo's personality. Just not TOO tall, 'cause he's afraid of heights!

But yeah, I love the idea of stilts as accessories.

Other possible accessories in addition to the stilts idea--

A props/costume trunk that he could fit inside of. Almost like Billy Bones' sea chest from Muppet Treasure Island, only with the Muppet Show logo on the trunk as opposed to a chest. Maybe even on wheels almost like a mini vehicle Rizzo could ride in! (The images this conjures after seeing Rizzo poking up out of the puppet trunk at MuppetFest!) This would be perfect for a smaller more "in scale" size Rizzo, and the trunk could hold other figure's accessories when not in use as well. Like Piggy's boa, Kermit's mug, Bunsen's Lab book, etc.. (Rizzo's stilts!)

I also do like the idea of the talking vegetables. Is the Chef's kitchen set coming with a refrigerator? Maybe Rizzo could come with that and talking food. Or a vending machine, whether it be for food OR the slot-machine style *Vendaface* with working lever, and a pair of those wacky nose-glasses that could fit on Rizzo.

Any of these ideas would tie Rizzo in more with the whole Muppet Show theme, considering he wasn't one of the big main characters back then like he is now.

I'm just happy there will be a Rizzo! I LOVE Rizzo! He's a great character and there are tons of possibilities with him.

Hi Ken,

I don't know if this has been resolved yet, but I know some folks were wondering if you thought of a way to limit the number of scalpers from grabbing all the VC Beakers at the convention?

I had an idea. What if you made each customer at the Palisades booth show you their ticket for the convention before the purchase, and you put a hole punch through their ticket? Then, anyone with a hole punched through their ticket couldn't buy any more.

Feel free to send me a free Vanishing Cream Beaker for my great idea.

We did that at Philly...you still had people sending folks over with their badges ("Badges? We don;t need no stinkin' badges!") who never had any intention of buying the figs in the first place to get them. So no matter what we do, and there will be a limit of 2 per person, the scalping problem is gonna be there.

You knwo who has the power to stop it? You. When a figure goes up on E-bay...be patient. Don't buy them if the prices get inflated. You think some Joe Six-Pack wants to sit on a Dr. Teeth figure for a year without being able to move it? No way. And if more people selling the stuff got no bids on stuff, or low bids that did not get out of hand, it would no longer be worth their while to invest the money and time and energy in the first place.

I know how you feel...there have been tons of things on E-bay I have wanted BAD...I am a collector and I get the fever over stuff too. But until WE as a community take the power away from scalpers and put it back into our own hands they will always be there. If no one bought drugs, there would be no dealers. Get my point?

So use your power...wait. Bide your time. Scalp the scalper before he scalps you. We can do what we can, but heck scalpers even sell the regular figures at higher prices on E-bay.

In my best Motti voice..."Your wallet has now become the ultimate power in the universe...I suggest we use it."

Hey Ken, a few quick questions on upcoming stuff.

1) What's the staud of Series 2? you said it goes into production next week or something right?
2) Same quesiton for Series 4. How are the sculpts coming?
3) Hpw many points of articulation can we expect to see on Rowlf, Lew, Scooter, Soot, Chef (series 3)
4) I know the packaging right now per case is 4 big guns and 2 of each fan fave, any thought on who your plannin to make the second big gun whe you package series 4. I figure Sam is one and guessing you'll make Janice the second "heavy hitter"
5) Ya know we always ask all these thing about figures this and figures thatand I feel like sometimes we forget you're human too...How are the wedding plans going?
