Right on!

I am with this guy! Small Rizzo...Articulation can be sacrificed in order to have all the figures match each other!

I don't like the idea of making Rizzo any smaller than Palisades is already planning AT ALL. The problem with that is, as we've seen with other toy lines, the smaller the figure the less articulation you get and the less detail you get. I want my Rizzo to be AT LEAST as poseable as Kermit, and if you try to make him smaller he won't be as poseable or as detailed or as cool. Trust Palisades. They're the professionals for a reason.

Oh, and Ken... I totally think you should go with the waiter outfit for Rizzo. Even though it's a limited appearance outfit, myself and I believe the general public REALLY remember Rizzo best in that outfit. Whenever I think of him, that's the outfit I see (and I think that's the same for most people). Rizzo's coolest and most recognizable outfit would be super if you could get it approved...

I don't have the figures yet, but how tall is the robot rabbit? He has 8 points of articulation, right? I think Rizzo should be proper scale and if that only mean 2 or 3 points of articulation , thats fine by me.

I would have thought that baseball cap and jacket outfit is the more recognisable one - certainly the one Henson use most with merchandise and pictures etc.

Reasonable thinking about Rizzo...

If he were actual scale (=small), he'd be as high as Kermit's legs.

Meaning, if Kermit and Rizzo were in a waist shot on TV and Rizzo was that small, you wouldn't even see Rizzo. He'd be underneath the TV screen. Steve always holds him up. (this looked rediculous during the Muppets Tonight days, because his legs were visible - he was either floating high above the floor or he had really long legs in those days!)

It's the matter of "tricking the audience" into believing that the Muppets have legs.

I'm not saying that I want Rizzo to be as tall as Kermit, but although he is quite small, he really stands collar-high to him. Look closely in the movies and series.

Size has always been a problem - in full shot photographs of the Muppet gang, Kermit is knee-high to Fozzie!

Rizzo needs to be *THE* figure in Series 5, doesn't he? Except to the most diehard of the diehard, I don't see a miniature non-articulated PVC being the banner figure of ANY series.

An idea for Ken, though: An in-scale slightly-articulated Rizzo wouldn't take much more work than say, the Robot Rabbit... Would it be possible to release the large, detailed, articulated Rizzo *AND* the in-scale PVC Rizzo as an accessory? That seems like the only way to please everyone...

Hey FER SURE...

FER SURE...

This is terribly off topic but it just so happens that I am in need of a graphic artist to help me design a logo for a business I'm starting. If you're still interested in that, I desperately need someone's help because anything I do looks like amatuer night.

if you're interested, email me and I'll give you more details...

Ken--

VC Beeker looks great! My husband was all but drooling over my keyboard when he saw it. I think $15 is quite reasonable for the exclusives. Heck, I'd pay that for every figure-- though I'm really glad I don't have to!

Rizzo

I posted my opinion in the poll thread-- but I want a good Rizzo figure. I want to be able to pose him. I don't want a lame little inscale figure that is the equivalent of the PVC statues already out there. This line is way too good for that. I want Rizzo to be as good as the rest of 'em. I'll give up a lot in scale to have the same high quality figure as Bunsen and Kermit (etc). I would like Rizzo to be shorter than Gonzo, but not so small he loses play value.

The point about anchoring a line is quite valid. Rizzo cannot be 2 inches tall. That would be a waste. Yes, it would be in scale but I want a Rizzo action figure. If he isn't articulated, where's the action? Accessories are cool and all, but the figures are the main point and a tiny Rizzo with a pile of accessories will be a big disapointment.

So no, Ken, everyone here is not set on proper scale. We know Sweetums is going to be a little smaller than truly proper, Rizzo can be a little bigger. And the point about the Muppets playing with size is very accurate-- they have to play with scale to get everyone in the shots.

Just my opinion.
