Sam Variant

Thinking about accessories for the Revulotionary War, Minute Man Same variant....

What about a small boat? Like in that famous painting of Washington crossing the Deleware where George is standing in the small boat while being rowed across the river?

Or a Jefferson writing chair or small, colonial desk with ink well, quill, and scroll.

I'd love to see Sam in the powdered wig and formal waist coat with stockings, just below the knee trousers-- the whole bit.

Maybe you could do a whole series of Muppets as famous people from history & fiction-- sort of a take on the Muppet parodies thing, which is already an established part of the Muppet world.

Piggy as Marie Antoinette (sure she was done as an expensive collector doll but it's a great fit) or Queen Elizabeth

Bunsen as Ben Franklin (with kite and key, of course) or Thomas Edison (with light bulb and victrola).

Gonzo as Sam Spade with Camilla as the Maltese Chicken

Nurse Janice as Clara Barton

Anyway, I'm sure we could come up with tons of ideas-- could probably be an entire series with exclusives and a playset. There could be a Colonial line with Muppets as early Americans or a movie line or just a variety of famous folk mixed together.

Just a thought....

My EB has been very good to me too, The figuers are not out on my planet yet, but i have a down payment of $5.00 on each one at EB inculding the playset and long haired Pig. They also said they would call me when the figs arive so they are resurved for me. But i still call every few days just to check because they don't have a date.

I'm the only one that has a down payment of these figs at the store, so they know me pretty well,

|"Are you the guy that calls every day?"
"Yep!"

The guy even told me he was looking in to buying the line himself!

Zack) Rowlf the,I just gotta go to ToysRus and see if i can put a down on the top hat frog;-)Dog.

Guys,

Hey,
I am still against the Sam Minute Man/Revolutionary War idea.
I think a Teacher (As on teh show) would be better.

And here are some ideas for Fozzie -

Fozzie with Pigs in Space uniform and long blonde Wig.
Fozzie with checked trousers, trouser braces and roller skates.

See ya

Ken-

I got my hands on a set of series 1 today. I've only opened Dr. Teeth so far, and now I have to ask: do there HAVE to be so many twist ties??? It took me 10 minutes to free him from his plastic prison! I can understand wanting to keep them in place, but even his HAT had a twistie on it! Seemed like overkill to me.

Oh, BTW- the figures all look GREAT. Dr. Teeth is awesome (although his hat fals off a little too easy), and I can't wait to spend the next 20-30 minutes opening the other three!! :stick_out_tongue:

When I get the exclusives, they'll stay in the packages.

Dr. Teeth's hat

Are you sure you have it pressed down just right? I had trouble with my Dr. Teeth's hat at first but once I got it on right-- with the little notches pressed into the 'dents' in his hair, it has been real secure.

Fozzie

I would prefer something that gets away from the show for some of the variants down the line a bit. I love having everything the way it was on the show-- can't wait for the Pigs in Space playset and full cast and I really want Dr. Bob and the Vet's hospital playset-- but by the time we get to series 7 or 8 I'd like to see Palisades take some liberties and have fun coming up with new ideas for the characters that are already made and have variants. By then it won't be the 25th anniversary line so I think it would be okay. (Of course this is very similar to the Pepe debate and the purists aren't gunna agree with me, which is fine-- plenty of room for everyone's opinion!) So, rather than another Fozzie from the show, I'd like to see Fozzie as Shakespeare or Henry the VIII (like in the Muppet parody picture).

This line is so well done, Palisades is doing a great job of staying true to the characters, even in the blurbs on the back of the packaging, I think Palisades could move beyond mimicing existing Muppet images and could actually add to the Muppet world with new conceptions of the characters. Sam as a minute man is a perfect example of how well they can match their ideas to the characters. Sam would love being dressed up like an early American patriot. It suits him to a T. Just my take on the issue.

MuppetQuilter,

Dont you like the Fozzie in Pigs in Space outfit with the Blonde wig ?

I think that is really great, And an extra addition to the Swinetrek set !

Honestly i dont like the idea of Muppt Parodies, We have had the Muppets be other stuff for so long now.
I want my Muppets being the Muppets and being Themselves.

Thats one of teh reasons im against Minute man Sam.
He could come in a Tux, A Teachers uniform and more, And they would be true to the show.

See ya

Which is why you want a figure Fozzie dressed up as First Mate Piggy.

I like the idea, but I think it's too much of a one-gag thing. (Fozzie dressed up as Piggy because his mom was in the audience and he wanted to be in every skit.)

I like your second idea (the roller skates) better, since it's such a classic scene, and Fozzie is more himself.

I thought of some more:

- Fozzie the Magician (necktie, cape, and top hat out of which he can pull a rabbit). From the Doug Henning episode (where he pulled out too many rabbits)
- Fozzie with his black/white shirt and cap from some of the UK spots (ELton John: Any Old Iron; Kenny Rogers: Knees UP Mother Brown). He wore it while singing classic Music Hall songs. It looks a little more formal and might fit nicely with Kermit and Piggy.

Joggy,

I love the Pearly King Fozzie idea !

The black hat and shirt with white seguins is great, Kermit also wore it too !

This could be like something for England, Like the Minute Man Sam will be for the States ?
Kidna like a tribute, to where it all started ?
