It was a cool movie! Is it on DVD yet? What movie isn't... duh that was a dumb question!
You NEED to go get this DVD! The transfer quality alone, is worth the disc, but the bonus features rock too.

Yes it's UrAc, the scribe. I did the sketch in '88 and followed it with a large drawing in oil pastels. Unfortunatley I don't have that larger drawing anymore and never got a picture of it. The really strange thing about it is that I did the drawing of *that* Mystic, for no reason in particular, I just liked the pose he was in, and then years later, when I volunteered at the Center For Puppetry Arts, in Atlanta, I got to see (and even touch!) the original puppet/suit for UrAc! Wow.

Awwww. I wish the theater were coming out sooner, but i trust this is for the best. Good thing that Statler ansd Waldorf are sold seperately. Just couldn't wait for them!

On another topic, the Dark Crystal is one of the most kick A dvds out there - and priced so low.

Ken-

One word: MuppetFest!

Two questions: What have you heard about it? Any special exclusive(s) in the works?

All I hear is that it is not certain that it is even gonna happen. Can't get any official confirmations.

I think waiting on the stage is the best idea...concentrate on building the line slowly at first, and then once everyone's hooked, go for it..less risky and you'll really know what needs to be done by that time...

I agree that it's better to wait, as long as the stage does eventually get made before the series ends.

And before everybody gets mad at me, let me say that I do think this line will last a long time ... it's just going to get even more popular as more characters are released and more people see how high quality everything is. It's just that no line lasts forever, and it'd be a real shame if we never got the stage at all.

Actually i would of thought late next year would be a prime time rather than waiting much longer than that. The Muppets go hot and cold at the best of times - next year they'll have a prime time TV slot and fairly visible profile, which you can be pretty sure of because Fox, the new owners, and Henson PR will be working overtime to gain support for the whole company. If you wait into the year after that then it's pot luck, they could have a movie deal and a TV show on air but on the other hand the Fox show could have been cancelled, the sale affected the company badly and sunk back into another quiet period. I guess what i'm saying is that personally IMO, it's better to strike at a time when you can be pretty sure there will be other things that can work in your favor otherwise it may end up too late and not happen at all.

As for Muppetfest - yeah it's totally the call of the new owners apparently, and next March doesn't look as good as it did before because it's pretty late to book anywhere decent unless they use the studios - Summer or Fall is probably becoming more likely, if at all.

Currently we have no distributors in Asia at all, including Japan, for Muppets.

Muppet Theater postponed

Yeah! I can see why you decided to pull this one for a while Ken. It's too...too... well, It's too big and difficult to figure out this early in the line. I basically couldn't think of what it could look like. THe best I could come up with is the modified version of this Star Jars Prototype

www.muppetcentral.com/collectibles/muppetpics/rare_star_theater.jpg

How would the playsets fit in to the scheme of the stage? How can this be done? WIll there be an orcastra pit? Will there be seats. Will it be in one piece? Will it have walls on either side of the stage?

TOO DARN MANY QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT!!!!!!!

Now that it's back to the drawing boards, you can sleep better at night!
