Ken or anybody who knows,

What is the UPC of the Series 2 casepack?

You see, I work at Meijer and we just got Series 1 on Friday, so I want to see if we've placed an order for Series 2. Or maybe you know, Ken, if Meijer has jumped on board for another series; I'm hoping there's a chance they'll catch up. They're a buck cheaper there than at TRU and I get a 10% discount. Darn it, shoulda waited!

Thanks for watching my back, both Gumby and JohnFranklin. I appreciate the support!

I don't know the UPC number for the Series 2, but I can try to dig it up tomorrow.

NEED THE BIG STAGE PLAYSET!

Hey guys,
I know I haven't posted here in a while, as I've been busy at school, but I felt I had to speak my mind on this very pertinent issue. From the very start of knowing about this line, then joining Muppet Central, and communicating with Ken and the rest of you fine folks, the DELUXE Stage playset seemed to be one of the greatest incentives of collecting this whole line. Especially, now that the figures have been released, and pictures of future releases, such as the other playsets, have been publicly shown, I think it's only upped the anticipation and neccessity of this stage. Fitting the other playsets on the stage allows a child/collector to re-enact almost any and all of their favorite moments from the classic show we all have come to enjoy, here at the board. Sure, the sets are great on their own, but with a stage to put them on, they can be given a context, besides some dude/girl's table/desk/shelf. Also, Statler and Waldorf are essential, and I don't see a good way of fitting their balcony in a reduced playset. Even my older brother, who's nowhere near the Muppet enthusiast/collector as I am, is looking forward to the release of these two geezers. As far as money issues, this toy line is the main focus of my spending money, these days, when not worrying about new college fees, and future plans of marriage and an apartment. As far as material items, these are the most worthwhile things out there, with the Simpsons line a little behind it. Heck, as far as the Main Street comparison, they're selling that thing, and it's fairly bare bones. Imagine what the guys over at Palisades making this wonderful line, under the watchful eye of our boy, Ken, could do with this baby. I see, as I have always seen, great things happening. A full stage, capable of fitting all the other, smaller playsets, cardboard/plastic essential backdrops that wouldn't be otherwise available, Statler & Waldorf's box, a movable red curtain, and a way of later attaching a backstage area. Anything else isn't so neccessary, I think, but these are the fundamentals. The stage is a classic set, and as with Pigs In Space, should not really be messed with. I know I'd buy it at $60, and I think it would be fairly recognizable to a good audience, to get them to do the same, not even worrying about all of the hardcores out there like us. Another thing, I think it would be cool as just a general action figure stage setting for those who don't even care for the Muppets, if done well, which in Palisades' hands, I'm pretty sure it would be. I'm sorry to go on a rant, but I feel like this is not a sacrifice worth making. I'm already losing it just waiting for Series 2, not to mention a naked Rowlf and Sam, or Janice (NOT NAKED, YOU PERVS!). Please, just assure me the stage will go through, heck, even take out Sweetums and Robin, as long as they get made outside of the set, at one point, if that'll reduce costs. As far as a wait, as long as we get the good, BIG, Deluxe Stage, then I know I'd wait to 2005, maybe even 2006. Heck, we can wait to '05 for the next Star Wars movie, and who knows how that's going to be, at this point, right? Well, I hope this has all been taken into account, and I'm glad there are still others, such as ZootandDingo and James that support the big one. I know (and I'm guessing you do, too, by now) that I sure do. Thanks for listening, especially Ken, don't let me down. Take care.

Thanks Aerosmith! I have no idea how I missed that, when the horn was one of the key elements to the movie. So of course he would come packed with one. Hey Areosmith do you have a "Darkness" yet, and if so how does he look set up?

Oh.... Hairfarmer! I totally like your avatar. If I am not mistaken it's a drawing of a Mystic from the Dark Crystal. It's been near ages since I last saw that movie, so I am a little fuzzy. All I remember is a Skeksi strapping a Podling in a chair and sucking the "essence" out of the little bugger!

It was a cool movie! Is it on DVD yet? What movie isn't... duh that was a dumb question!

Yup yup yup, the Dark Crystal's on DVD. My girlfriend got it for me just because.
It's got a VERY interesting featurette, Jim performing, Frank Oz add-libbing, and deleted scenes, and original work print scenes that had Frank Oz's voice as Auhgra and all the original languages of the Skeksis and Mystics before it was "dumbed down" to English. Very fun to see Auhgra insult the Skeksis in their own tongue!
"Of course I'm no Gelfling, Heteckneskek!" (or something like that)

I wish the classic Star Wars films were on DVD:frown: :frown: :frown:
I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PREQUELS I WANT TO SEE BIG RUBBER PUPPETS!!!!

A little news. After much debate and review, we've decided to take the stage off the table for a little while. Why? Because if it happens, like Squigiman suggests, it really needs to be done right. So rather than poop one out or make concessions, we decided at work to take a wait and see position on the stage playset. It was already going to be late in the next year that it would have been on shelf...but it will now be a wee bit longer than that.

Try not to see that as bad news...but good news. In an effort not to compromise product integrity we would rather wait and see if the line gains the kind of following after a few series that the Simpson's or some other line did and go from there. That way if the audience gets built and is there then we can make the stage I think we would all want, AND still make it affordable.

Anyway...thought you might like the FYI.

Thanks Ken, 'Sounds like a plan.
If nothing else, the more playsets ya'll make the more you'll learn what to do and not like we were talking about before. And you'll have a better idea of just how big it will have to be to hold any of the smaller sets as more of them will be done. This is a prime example of why this line is so hoopy and why there are so many of us who are just ga-ga about it. Ya'll are showing a love for the product quality equal to, or greater than, the bottom line. It's too bad more companies haven't remembered that old-fashioned idea.
