I really don't like the idea of the whole thing being skeletal and foldable - that doesn't really work nowdays, people want something more solid and durable. You've only gotta look at the Simpsons or the WWF rings for that.

I think the main base of the playset should be the stage and the wall behind it with a curtain that can come across and a few backdrops to slot in (not cardboard - something more durable). I guess you could construct a band area into the front if there was budget. As Jamie said the Backstage area could be placed behind it when it becomes available and be an 'add on'. I think those are the essential parts of this regular playset.

I don't particularly think surrounding wall's are neccasary or even the ability to add Statler & Waldorf into the set but if it was possible maybe this could be the skeletal part. A foldable or constructable surround packaged behind the stage base. Statler & Waldorf and their box could just be painted onto it.

OK, additional thoughts...

You include Sweetums and Robin with the backstage playset. Then you combine the Statler & Waldorf's box with my idea for Prop room and make it in two pieces that snap together to make one playset that is narrow(only wide enough to encompase the width of the theatre box) but deep enough to be self-standing and hold all the extra accessories. You could also include Beauregard with his broom and mop/bucket as the figure. Then you make an L shaped piece that connects from the right side of S&W's box to the top left of the Backstage to hold lights ala' EM stage and curtains and sell that through the website for all us hard cores.(Yes I've been converted from a casual buyer to a hardcore, I'll admit it)
I'd post an attachment of a (very) rough sketch but I'm not allowed:rolleyes:

Now, don't get me wrong here, don't get anyone wrong here, i think we would all love a large muppet theater playset, but not everyone would have the money to buy it is the main thing, i have seen a lot of labs still in stores, so releasing a large set at 60 bucks, would sit too. i would buy the larger set and i would rather have the larger set,as i think we all would, but i'd have to say if you want to release a theater sooner then make it smaller, i would only display the main characters on stage with thier items anyways, because the playsets look fine on there own.

i would really love a large set, but i'd say go with the small for now it would be much smarter plus if you want to do the conecting sets idea you could still do it.

or just wait all to gether, see how far this line goes and make the large set in the last wave, i don't know?

curtains!

Hey, Ken -- Would real fabric curtains be possible for the stage? Someone suggested flexible red plastic, like on Bunsen's labcoat, but I think red velvety fabric would make it extra special.

If you really want me to. It's really a pretty bare-bones rough, no details or anything. I'm really more of a figural artist than an architect anyway.
