Well, I'm going to weigh in on the debate too.

Personally, a smaller more inexpensive playset is far more attractive. I'd love to see a backstage playset and Stat. & Wal. box done as seperate playsets as well. Backdrops would be awsome, as long as they aren't for existing or future playsets. That would seem like a waste. Its also a great way to get "playsets" that would never happen, i.e. At The Dance.

I only hope that we do get to see Robin and Sweetums though.

Go over to the Palisades Message Board. Someone over there (I think it's Grail) is using it as their avatar.

I think with the Simpsons Main Street comparison you've gotta take into the equation how long that line has been running, the visibility of the show and the distribution. The Muppets do well but are not quite on that level yet - i've seen the Labs really struggle internationally at £30 - importing and distributing a large deluxe $60 playset would probably retail at £60 which is well over a hundred dollars. I guess all that has to be considered.

I really agree on the idea of 'add ons' - be it Statler & Waldorf's Box or Backstage but i also agree that there isnt enough play value in having that as another $30 playset so as i said, maybe mini playsets that could also include a figure as an incentive and come in say $10 cheaper. Is there really a need to have an action figure come with the main Theate playset anyway ? As this will probably be something for people who are already into the line it might be an idea to spend all the budget on the actual playset itself.

There are some great possibilities - additional backgrounds could be available through the website or club and be an easy to produce moneyspinner and the Theatre could keep being expanded as the line does well.

BTW - for anybody with just this thread bookmarked it's probably a good idea to mention Palisades has now got its own forum at http://forums.palisadestoys.com - i would have posted this there but it probably makes more sense to collate all the replys on this topic in one place.

I hate to be a jerk, but it is supposed to be a special pic that people who paid money to join the Collector's Club are seeing as a benefit for supporting the club. It is THEIR picture...they earned it. Technically speaking, you shouldn't be seeing the pic. Not really the way it is supposed to work.

which is why he is my avatar no longer. it was the first new pic i had at my disposal when i found that i needed one that was smaller than the stuff i already had. i was looking through my pics, and thought of a funny sig, so i tossed it up. i figured people who could tell what it was would appreciate the joke, and those that HADN'T seen the original might find yet another reason that they need to join the club...

still, it is now gone. now i can ramble on about the grue in two places...which is more fun anyway.
