Sorry you didn't get to meet Paula, but it'll happen someday. Thanks for the great story! It sounds like they really pulled out all the stops at the Vegas audition!

:excited:

By the way, was it Nigel Lythgoe who spoke to you all or was a judge? Tall guy with brushed over brown hair and english accent. If so, he used to work on TMS !
Yes, it was him! I didn't know that! What did he do on TMS?

p.s. Thanks you guys for your sentiments.

He was the dance/music choreographer for TMS. Nice guy. He was actually the inspiration for the "Nasty Judge" thing Simon does. Nigel did it first on a UK show called Popstars, although he wasn't as good. He is exec producer for all the Idol shows and does all the audience warm ups too.

I think we're going to find out in a couple weeks whether the guy from Erie will make it past Hollywood. That would be so fun if he did! I though the third season was disappointing. Of course, nothing will ever compare to the second season for me, but if Hayes hits the top twelve that could make it my second-favorite season.

The Clay Aiken concert in York was awesome. I want to meet that guy sooooo bad... But not really at a concert where I'm just another random fan surrounded by squealing Claymates. Did anybody ever see the series of Luann comic strips where she met Clay Aiken? That was so great! Anyway, it was an hour and a half of Clayish goodness. My mom, my aunt and her boyfriend really liked it too, and we got a couple of great Clay shirts. It was groovetacular!

I bought the Aladdin DVD today. You know, I have all these Disney videos, and now they've got me itching to get them on DVD... Grrrr. Oh well. I see a new Pooh movie is coming to theaters. Odd they didn't put Springtime With Roo in theaters, but then I haven't seen it yet so I don't really know. I thought Piglet's Big Movie was disappointing. But I should join a Disney DVD club. Do they have those? Anyway, Clay did a great job on the song. The acoustics seem slightly askew to me; his voice seems a tad muffled at times, and the orchestra overpowers him a bit now and then. But the song is very well suited to him. I don't remember ever hearing that Howard Ashman died during the production of the movie, so watching the features referring to that and how hard it was to cut a song he cared so much about were very interesting. Just a word of warning: they released a special edition DVD, and it has "Proud of Your Boy," but not Clay's version. I didn't get the CD, but a lot of people did get it and then were disappointed.

Cool--we're halfwany through the movie, and we usually don't watch the extras until after the movie, so when we finish it we'll be looking forward to the Clay video. Plus, I can't wait for his Christmas album!

Did you guys hear that Simon is going to be included in a special feature on the new "Shrek 2" DVD? Apparently he shows up to judge all the characters singing....I saw a clip of it yesterday...his animated character looks just like him!
