I listened to the samples iTunes has and the ep sounds quite a bit better than anything she ever did on the show (the annoying twang she had on all the live performaces is lacking, which is good on the ears), but none of it is my bag.AndyWan Kenobi said:Hey, thanks y'all. And a belated congrats to Erin as well!
I'm going to check on iTunes for the Fantasia single. I may have to wait to get it until I'm back at my cable modem. I don't want to wait 20 minutes to download each song...
Apparently his album is about to go triple platinum. His mom was there, and they're spending the Fourth of July together. He's the first performer on PBS' "A Capitol Fourth." They also mentioned that his younger brother is going into the Marines.

Are they coming anywhere near you? I'm tempted to go to the audition in Cleveland, just for the fun of it, but I know it would just result in Simon telling at me and I'm not sure how I would deal with that...Well, they're coming to St. Louis, which is sorta kinda close, but if I go I'll probably go to Cleveland--it's only a (long) day's drive, and one of my closest friends (and college roomies) lives there, so I'd have a place to stay. If you go, we could plan which Muppet songs to sing.Don'tLiveonMoon said:Ooh, you should! We'd all be rooting for you!Are they coming anywhere near you? Erin

I'm still eligible!!! I turn 28 on Oct 16....I'm going to audition in Las Vegas. Or at least I want to...but mainly I just want to see Paula....but it would cool to actually get through the auditions....and I do sing but I need to get over my nerves because just thinking about it makes nervous.
But they said that they're focused this season on contemporary pop / hip-hop. The guy from Erie who went sang "I Love You Just the Way You Are," and they wanted him to sing something current, to which he said he didn't know anything. They let him through but said he'd better come up with a contemporary song by today or he'd be out of luck. One thing I like about American Idol is the fact that there's so much music on it that I like. If they're going to stick to contemporary music, I don't know if I'm going to stick with it, since most of the music I really like either dates back to the '70s or earlier or is from movies or TV. I guess we'll see. Still no word from Andy... I wonder if that means he made the first cut?
